What about rest of the buffoons, mulayam, mayavati, mamta banarjee, sonia gandhi and a long list. Anyway, Jayalalita is the lesser evil of the two, the other being Karunanidhi. I wonder who takes charge now.

I have heard from many people is that jaya Lalitha is one of the best administrators in the country. We have to realise that a good politician is not necessarily a good administrator. Jaya Lalitha had both qualities which is rare in india.

Then again justice has prevailed, So good job judiciary !!!

I am told the direction has been that she should be jailed immediately.

    How far is this correct?

If the offences are bailable, then her lawyers will surely move for bail on Monday and it will be granted.

What will be her political status?

She will have to resign if she is jailed.

And it means she will not be able to contest for 06 years.

What is the latest as far as the law and order situation is concerned.

The DMK cannot gloat since a whole lot of them are involved in 2G and the other case Aircel Maxis.

Sirjee this is india. She will appeal in the higher court then there will be tareek pe tareek; tareek pe tareek and no insaaf.
I would be really surprised if she gets and serves jail time.

As of now she has to resign and she cant contest election untill proven innocent. (AFAIK)

She has been sent taken into custody and after a medical check up she will be sent to jail. She is not the CM or an MLA anymore. She will have to apply for bail at a higher court as the sentence is for 4 years (below 3 , she couldve applied at the same court). Plus there is also a 100 crore fine that she has to pay. Failure to pay it will lead to an additional year of jail. The cabinet will also have to be dissolved and redone.
Similar sentences have been given to Sasikala and Co, but the fine amount for them is 10 crores.

The new CM will probably be from O.Panneerselvam, will most probably be a puppet who is controlled by Jaya. She will mostly apply for bail and try to create a sympathy wave out of it. during the upcoming elections. As she cannot contest for 10 years (4 years plus 6 year term after that) she will have to project someone else as the CM for the next elections.

It will be hard to challenge the conviction as the case according to a lot medias, this was an open and shut case.

So a great day for Indian democracy. So judiciary stood its ground against all odds and has delivered a historic verdict.

This I suspect will plunge TN into chaos for the next 5-10 years but lets hope that something really good happens to TN politics after the chaos.

May be this is the best time for BJP to step in as a major player in TN. Will they step in?

She cant control anyone though. All those cult status were manufactured due to her power in the party. But now that she can no longer wield the power of a CM, I dont think she can wield the same influence on the party. ADMK will be in chaos! I dont think people will still be her puppets.

TN politics is in utter ruins now! ADMK is in shambles and DMK are just mongrels. Vijayakanth is actually much worse and is a real life joker!

What do you think will happen to us now?

If you ask me, the only bright spot is that this opens up the oppurtunity for BJP to enter into our state

I have TNMRB exams tomorrow. Dont know whether it will be held or cancelled now that many trains and buses in TN have been cancelled. Even then, I dont know how I am going to reach the test centre with all the call taxis and autos being shut down!

and what makes you believe that BJP will be better than AIDMK or DMK? Nearly every politician in India is corrupt. It doesnt matter which party it is. Yes its a success for judiciary, but if you go digging for rot in every other politician, i reckon you will find abundant amount . Be it Jayalalthia or Modi.
I judge politicians from their work, not from which party, background they are from. And i can tell you, Jayalalitha was one of the best administrators in our country, but one mistake can sink you down.

Their policies in internal security/foreign policy/economy/social issues are flat out much better than any of the present mainstream political parties of India be it FDI, labour regulations, private property rights/ religious and social issues

Why should we bother with voting in elections then:rolleyes:? This is the same lame excuses given by lazy ass middle class for their lazy ass sleeping around during election day
wow, You seem to know much better about TN politicians than we tamilians living here do! Great!

Now explain why such a big "administrator" brought the TN economy to ruins in just three and a half years of her "great administrative" rule? When Indian economy is picking pace again, TN is slowing down!

TN is the slowest growing among the major Indian states with no signs of recovery. She has opened up a lot of govt run businesses across the state- from state owned restaurants, pharmacies, bottled waters to cinemas and shit. Indian government tried using this socialist style of governance in the 1950-90s and it almost bankrupted us. So thats what the new "great administrator" has led us to! Is that not sweet?
