Israel seeks US help to build nuclear power plant: Report

Jerusalem, July 31 (Xinhua) Israel has sought help from the US to build a nuclear power plant in the country, a media report said Friday.
Israel has already conveyed its request to the US, the Ynet news service reported.

Tel Aviv wants to build the nuclear power plant in southern Negev desert to meet the growing electricity demand in the country.

During a UN meeting in May, a US diplomat has said that the Obama administration expects Israel to sign the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Israel has never disclosed about its nuclear arsenals, although there is a widespread belief that the country does have such military capability.

The report said Tel Aviv is interested in adopting the “Indian model”, which would allow Israel to build an internationally monitored civilian reactor.

Israel is trying to get a deal like India but for this, Is Israel ready to let in IAEA to inspect its Nuclear reactor ? and even if America agrees to help out Israel , i dont think the NPT countries would agree on this .
