Iranian president to attend SCO meeting in China - Trend

    Azerbaijan, Baku, May 22 / Trend, E.Tariverdiyeva, T.Jafarov /
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will attend the 12th meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), to be held in Beijing on June 6-7, head of Iranian Presidential Administration's international department Mohammad Reza Forghani, the Hamshahrionline newspaper reports.

Chinese leader Hu Jintao will chair the SCO meeting. The meeting will be attended by delegations from SCO member countries and observer countries, as well as representatives of international organizations.

The SCO was established on Jan.15, 2011 by China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Iran has observer status in the SCO.

My Question: Shall Iran become a member of SCO? Will it be in Russia and China's interest?
