Some must read articles on how Iran was able to hack into and land the US drones. No matter which way you look at it, the US is in a tough spot.

If possible, India's foreign ministry should be atleast thinking about mediating between the two where the drone can be exchanged for some quid pro quos. It is Indian interests that the drone tech doesn't end up in Chinese hands. And the longer it stays in Iran, the higher the possibility.

Iran to send US a toy model of downed drone

Iran has said it will send to the US a toy model of a RQ-170 Sentinel drone in response to Washington's request to return the pilotless aircraft that crashed in Iran, Iran's Radio Payam said Tuesday.

The miniature — that will bear an inscription "We will trample the US" — will be sent to Washington during a special ceremony to mark the 34th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran Feb 5.

Iran said it brought down the US stealth reconnaissance drone, which crossed into Iranian airspace from neighbouring Afghanistan and fell there Dec 4.

A group of Iranians decided to manufacture and market a 1:80 scale model of the drone "at their own expense", the radio said.

The model, measuring 30 cm by 14 cm, will cost 70,000 rials, or around $6 at the current exchange rate.
