IPL matches have been shifted out of Hyd citing Telangana unrest. Once the matches were shifted out, the CM of AP, K. Roshaih, and sports minister(who incidentally hails from Telangana), had assured that Hyd is safe for conducting matches. Telangana Joint Action had given in writing assuring that they would not create any problems for IPL matches if they are held in Hyd. Inspite of these assurances, the matches have been shifted out of Hyd. BTW, Deccan Chargers(team from Hyd and AP) are the defending champions. Contrast this situation to situation in Mumbai: Shivsena specifically threatens the Oz Players from playing in IPL. Yet, the matches were not shifted out. Why such double standards? Political unrest in India is common, and of late even terror activities have become common. So, can IPL afford to punish the cricket loving audience for no fault of theirs? Is it a right approach?
