network error retypr title :- not the best choices, JAPAN , S KOREA would be far better choices as partners in this matter

Israel is an ally, but it cannot be trusted with not selling MCA secrets to other countries ! And Singapore is more of a friend, not exactly an ally ! And both of them are more close to US than they are to us. Though such an partnership, had it been possible, would have been great, considering the technological expertise we will gain, but there is a very little chance of that materializing, considering the US would not want that its F-35 customers and potential future customers ditch it for the MCA, since maybe Singapore may also become a potential F-35 customer in the near future if they consider moving on to 5TH genr. fighters for their airforce, which I think is inevitable in the future.
Tsering i would ten to agree more with sandeep

those two choice you made have been playing double game between tiger and dragon adn cant be completely capable of handling sensitive info.

much better are japan which has real reasons like tiger to be wary of dragon or , korea for the same reasons

Re: Involve Singapore and Israel in our AMCA 5th generation fighter pr

MRCA will fulfill all the needs for next plus25 years, PAK-FA may be our last 5th gen fighter..
future may be in hands of UACV, their are very rare chance for sixth gen fighters..
So MCA future is very difficult..
Yes you are right instead on AMCA ADA & Airforce / Navy should work on LCA platform like Mk3 & Mk4 Variant with Stealth features or even a VTOL variant

Instead of jumping into AMCA is sucideale , ADA/HAL is yet to produce fully functional 4th generation aircraft AMCA will be fifth generation aircraft then just assume how much money & time is required for that to come into service not before 2030 for sure by that time UCAV would have taken over the roost:rolleyes::tsk:

AMCA will be a good learning experience for stealth purposes, whether it serves long or not.
...

yeah Combat UAVs are future and unmanned LCA is planned by DRDO in future, still for R&D, IMHO it would be better to keep developing AMCA.
Yeah, US has decided to develop their Combat UAVs (6th Gens) within next 2 decades, and I think we should also follow the US steps and with AMCA experience this will become somewhat easy for us.

US leads the world because it has money+technology, while we only have money though not as much as the US, but we are definitely lagging behind in technology, only the projects like Avatar, HSTDV, Aura and AMCA can help us.

Best Choice will be the Japanese....and if ADA/HAL has learnt any lessons from the LCA they must first develop the naval version and then go for modification of air force version...that will cut the waiting time by a lot.

A nob Q: won't conflict between two vlo aircraft force them to fight at a much shorter distance as compared to current bvr dominated doctrines?

Wouldn't that be similar to the approach taken by rafale designers....that could mean longer delays for the aircraft to enter service.

Yes but modifying the naval variant into airforce variant is much easier compared to doing it vice versa.

True, but unlike the french who started development in 1986, and were able to field a 4.5gen fighter by 2005, time will be at a premium for us.for we are as much as 15 years behind the leaders in this field IMHO

Every other country will be having only one fifth gen fighter to fly from their stables by 2030 except for the US...And bringing in the Japanese will speed up the process as the whole project might be better managed.

Well the chinese are coming up with their own version of F35...it might take them more time yet but they will more than likely begun inducting them by 2025.it would be foolish not to take this development into account IMHO
