So, Russia looks pretty rich in terms of ground water and forest cover. I have a doubt though, regarding maps.
As to which is the correct depiction? Mercator or peters. http://imgur.com/gallery/HgSZU

This is a great one, I'm saving this.

There is no correct projection, I guess. Each has its own purpose.
The more accurate one is to look at a globe or Google Earth.

PS: Aquifer in Xinjiang. Free Turkestan....
