India's Taliban banishes women below 40 from markets

Lucknow: India’s own Taliban, the panchayats, have given another shocking fatwa to solve the problems faced by their women in Bagpat district in Uttar Pradesh. The order banishes any woman aged below 40 years to go to the markets.

In a Panchayat that was held at Asra village in Bagpat, the women have also been ordered not to use mobile phones. The order specifically says that not only in the villages, the women will avoid using phones even outside the villages.

The Panchayat clearly said the women faulting on the orders will be punished. Mohammed Raees, 43 years old, told Bhaskar News that the decisions were taken to avoid increasing cases of eve-teasing and molestation, especially in market areas.

Surprisingly, the Panchayat did not find a single solution to punish the culprits of the eve-teasing cases.

These guys are bunch of jokers. I think they have no authority to enforce this rule. Pressure has to be mounted on these guys to revoke this statement and provide necessary security to women in the night and punish the guilty if found.

All this is because of fcuking geriatric semi-literate slobs who like to impose their "morals" and "values" on the rest of society. You will find lot of people like that around rural Haryana and rural West UP.

And it is not just rural either - there is a section of people in India who have this mentality of, "The kind of life that I lead, the type of person I am, is ideal, is the best. Society must subscribe to my view on 'morals and values', otherwise I will vandalize them, beat them up". This is the most poisonous thinking in India today, and such people need to be clobbered. Of course, such pricks are on the decline everywhere, but it will take more than two decades for them to die out completely - if not more.

No country for women? UP minister Azam Khan backs Khap leaders for Taliban-like diktat

One of the senior most members of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's Cabinet, Azam Khan, on Friday justified a medieval diktat issued by a panchayat in state's Bagpat district banning love marriages and putting other restrictions on young women recently.

The urban development minister of the state said Khaps had all the right to take decisions
. He, however, said that if the panchayat has taken any decision then it is not a "farman" or "fatwa".

"India is a democratic country. Everyone should live freely here. I feel that this is not a farman and they can just give an advice. It is up to people to accept this advice or not. They have not said anything to government," Khan said adding that the government could not ban anyone.

A panchayat in Bagpat's Asara village had recently issued the bizarre diktat while handing out outrageous fatwas to strangle women's freedom. The panchayat had banned women and girls from using mobile phones while restricting those below 40 years of age from going to markets unescorted. It had also forbid females from stepping out of their houses without covering their heads.

Anyone who has some knowledge or residence in UP would know that this azam khan is bloody goonda. He also indulges in communal politics and intimidation to win election. no wonder he is close friend of mulayam.

Actually, since they feel that their laws are superior to the Indian laws, that village should be declared an Independent country and they should get no access to anywhere beyond the limits of their village.

Let us see how long they last out with the fool ideas!

It's dumbasses like these who erode the importance of Panchyats. They should be declared unfit and the Panchyat in the area dissolved, with new members installed in their place.

Actually, it's both Hindus and Muslims who are supporting the decision even though the village is predominantly Muslim. Religion has nothing to do with it, medieval mentality is rampant in villages of North India (special Harayana and U.P).

It has nothing to do with religion. Many khaps with Hindu majority also have such feudal thinking. The state government does not take action due to political ramifications. Lets see how Akhilesh plays this out.

So now the only thing that need to be done is to rename Ministry of Civil Aviation as Khap Panchayat of Civil Aviation.

KPCA. Has a nice ring to it, no?

It is the right time to take the bull by horn and ban these Panchayts once for all. Indian parliament should be the only authority to pass any laws. The women organisation should go into this village and protest with mobile phones in their hands. These idiots need to learn the benefits of having a phone. There are more pressing challenges that are stariing into our eyes than these kinds of Diktats.
