India on Tuesday conveyed its "strong concerns" to Pakistan about the continuing ceasefire violations along the 778 -km Line of Control (LoC) and the 198-km international boundary (IB) in J&K during the weekly hotline talks between the two director-generals of military operations.

But the Indian government is yet to green light the proposed meeting between the two DGMOs — as was decided during the Manmohan Singh-Nawaz Sharif meeting in New York last month – to resolve the tensions along the border. "We are assessing the situation and the decision will be taken at an appropriate time," said an official.

As reported by TOI, over 200 ceasefire violations have already been recorded this year, with 170 taking across the LoC and over 30 in the IB sector. Compared to this, there were 117 ceasefire violations in 2012, 61 in 2011, and 57 in 2010.
