Really surprised at poll results. Many Indians still living in Cold War era.
Any large country should be flexible and maintain a diversity of relations
For their Interests ,like India currently does.
Hell, I thought most on DFI would say US is the enemy. :) The poll results show a healthy skepticism.

From same article :

"Modi fondly recalled his visit to Russia's Astrakan region in his early days as chief minister of Gujarat which has ties with that region. Talking about that visit, he said he felt as if he was in India.

Putin said Russia places its relations with India high enough in the strategic framework. Nuclear power project has been a symbol of India-Russia relations
."

The visa ban by a certain country seems to have worked out well for everyone they deem of strategic importance

Why don't you tell me which country you would place in that bracket?
Just wanted to hear how you arrive at such conclusions.

I would imagine that the the answer to the question of which country can be termed as "undoubtedly greatest country in the history of mankind" (a history, lot of which we aren't even 100% sure about) is a subjective one, and I was curious as to how you have managed to objectively identify the "greatest country in the history of mankind".

As for me there are a lot of great countries (including the US), civilizations and cultures but I find it difficult to pinpoint the "greatest country in the history of mankind".

Indians view US very badly during the Obama and Hillary Clinton regime.

Like it or not Bill / Hillary set the tone to demote Indian influence to nothing. Obama aided by Hillary brought to zero all that strategic gains made during Bush (jr) era.

I hope Hillary does not make into the White house, that will be made news for India.

Right now all that desperate effort made to re- rail India/US relations will come to zero as Obama has lost confidence of the American people. Hence all that is going to happen, will happen after Obama is gone.

US is a mix bag of goodies and baddies, it is a perhaps the strongest democracy, but it is also a mean, selfish and untrustworthy.

If you take a peek behind the US military-industrial complex, it is something that should leave anyone feel violated.

Do you know that certain US states have a long term contract with private companies regarding prison system. They need to ensure certain % occupancy rate for certain years in return for companies making investments in prison system and benefiting from the cheap prison labour.

Makes one wonder why so many law enforcement official get off easy and why it has highest population in world incarcerated.
And this is in their own country, forget what happens when they invade others by bringing "Democracy".

Will not discuss more regarding all of this to avoid derailing the thread but feel free to research.

Over and out. :namaste:

Your breezy riposte fails to acknowledge the facts of the Modi visa story, and then you fly off on a bizarre unrelated track dragging a red herring, which I suppose you caught from your own barely-floating boat.

Come on, Thinker, think. :dude: And keep both oars in the water.

So was Hillary Clinton Indian too? You know the one who used "NGOs" to search for mass graves in Gujarat 2002 riots but couldn't find any?

It had a fancy name too "Get Modi" campaign.

US seems to be a great country for its citizens. In the end its all that matters I guess.
Becoming less great day by day under Obama and his party. :-(

Keep throwing stuff up against the wall there, TT. Something will stick eventually.

From your cite:

Under President George W. Bush Mr. Modi's diplomatic visa was cancelled and a decision was taken not to issue any visa to him to enter the United States.
Who appointed Hillary? Not Bush.

And the source for the entire article is an unnamed official...

Yawn. Get Modi campaign for the win! Worked out so well, did it not?

BTW something will "stick eventually" but we Indians don't need to do anything for that. Current POTUS is doing a fine job alienating allies left, right and center. :thumb:

Again you veer away from the facts of the Modi visa affair. Here is more from your bizarre cite.

These present and retired officials claimed that "during the tenure in office of Secretary Clinton, several expert teams in the guise of NGOs were sent to Gujarat to try and find mass graves". The purpose was to then take the matter to the Office of the UN Commissioner of Human Rights in Geneva as an example of genocide. "In 2011, some bones were discovered in a Gujarat field by one of the search teams and there was much excitement, but these were later found to be buffalo bones", an official said.
Buffalo bones. ROFL stuff.

So who ordered search for that. Not Bush, yep. Must not be Bush or anything related to his office under any circumstances. Any responsible Republican knows that. ROFL stuff.

"The official added that "no evidence whatsoever of mass graves was uncovered in Gujarat despite six years of clandestine searching for them" by undercover experts posing as representatives of NGOs. He added that "five politicians, three from the state and two in Delhi, assisted the search teams, but the information given by them proved unproductive".

Finally, "now that Secretary Clinton had stepped down from office, by end-2012 orders were given to stop wasting time on the search for mass graves in Gujarat, much to the dismay of those NGOs who were getting significant funding as a consequence of the search operations"."

Ooo - that is gotta hurt. So much effort and nothing to show for. And the guy ya kept trying to bury becomes the Indian PM by largest margin in over 30 years!

ROFL.

The Modi visa question would never have existed without the participation of Indians. You can't dodge that, can you? Your responses grow more like those a chatterbot, so I'll leave you to argue with yourself, "Thinker"
