Indian Station In Oman Monitoring Pakistan's Naval Communication

"India opens its ears - European intelligence services are keenly speculating on the purpose of a listening post that has been active for at least two years on the outskirts of Ras al-Hadd, at the northeasternmost tip of Oman. Located on an isolated rocky plateau just 2 km from the sea, the site which is protected by police checkpoints in not among the listed US listening post in the country (see below), and it may be the first Indian listening post in the Persian Gulf. Several reasons make this likely. While Saudi Arabia and most other kingdoms in the region are allied to Pakistan, Oman has active diplomatic relations with India, with whom it signed a defence agreement in 2008. Construction of the Ras al-Hadd listening post was finished a year later. The facility is also located directly across the Arabian Sea from Pakistan. India has had an interception post in the far north of Madagascar since 2007 and is planning to build others in the Maldives, the Seychelles and Mauritius."

Good to see India snooping... :ear: :ear: :ear:

I read somewhere that a Paki living in Oman was asking about the regular presence of Indian military planes in Oman and if there are regular Indian troops stationed there or is it another secret foreign base after Tajikistan.Obviously he was not comfortable with Oman having defense ties with India.

Pakis are getting paranoid about Indian presence in Oman which is perhaps one of the most neutral Arab country and good relations with India including Defense ties.

One Paki was even saying if a war war happens between India-Pak then Pakis would bomb out Oman.

Also helps in monitoring other Wahabi states in the area for terror links.
Very good move, we can have active check on the PLAN activities at Gwader port with eye to eye contact & in gulf. Same time we can keep track on US navy's movement. It may also be handy in anti piracy operations as well. Keep it up IN.

India does not need to monitor USN movements. Well we have their own P8s for that.

India does require a good ally in that region. Not just an ally but a strategic partner and Oman has proved to be that. India has supplied arms to Oman too. IIRC Goa Shipyard had some orders and we have also supplied INSAS rifles.
