I'll just say this once. Please don't turn a bolt action rifle into a Darra Adam crap. Unless you plan to get a bigger magazine and make it semi automatic.

How many firearms you own or fire in real life ?

Could it be possible that the doctrine of our special forces to operate within small relative distance away from the country, is the reason for not upgrading the kits to the levels required?

If doctrine required for SF to work in far away lands, the kit also upgraded for better survivability in harsh terrain and situations.

if our doctrine demanded that there will be no support from mainland forces, their equipment would probably have their own gun ships, attack Heli, situational awareness, dedicated com sat, even vehicles and kit custom built for them.

In other words, SF do not have the globally comparable kit(dedicated infrastructure) is because IA thinks they don't need it.

i don't believe in the argument that IA does not have funds for this, what they don't have is plan to do so.

Possible?

No, there is no such logic behind it. just as with the rest of the Indian Mil the reason the SFs are not equipped well is because of a paucity of funds in the past and continued delay in providing even the most basic equipment to the forces. Look at the BPJ debacle, it has taken over a decade to order just 50,000 (out of a total 360,000 requirement) last year. Or look at the MMRCA sage. The SFs have had it particuarly badly because until recently their role/signifcance was unknown amongst the senior levels of the armed forces and thus they were not given much attention. Even today the "big army" (conventional army) is pretty unaware of the role/capabilities/needs of the SFs and as there is no dedicated SOCOM the SFs are thus not given what they need.

The MoD is a joke, the ministers in charge have no interest in serving their country and the military continues to rot.

Let's not make excuses for the criminal neglect and inaction of the babus and civilians.

Dad had a pistol, sold it. Army brat so know and have handled goodies at ranges.

Then you should've known that no modification is allowed (arms act) in firing mechanism, barrel or magazine etc as you were advising me on previous post.

Depending on the permit our Indian local gunsmiths will make you a AK 47 copy @ 50,000

In Pak this cost you around 15000 PKR

All the NATO supplies looted in Pak north west ended up in the hands of civies and Jihadis. The point i am making here is that India has worst civilian arms law.

While I agree with most of the points, MoD babus cannot be the problem alone.

One of my friends had worked in a navy project. One of the highlight of that project was that a captain had lodged a complaint was that the civilian team were wasting a lot time going to the loo. His point was that human body can survive on 400 ml water per day, why do these guys need to drink excess water only to piss it away.

I am not kidding on this.

In their mind, defence guys might be right because of their profession. But civilians cannot be expected to understand those ethos.

I have also worked with Govt babus from junior to very senior level. You need a certain degree of patience and planning to get things done by them.

If Both sides are saying "my way or high way", there cannot be a outcome to the negotiations.

Putting defence guys and MoD Babu's in a room and asking them to fight it out is not a solution. There must be a better way.

Defence guys and MoD Should deploy a specialist negotiation teams to find solutions to the problems.

Negotiation is an art, not everybody is good at it.
