Sorry,I was not aware of that. They do seem to have a KIA in late 2009 when their base at wullar was attacked by militants. Are you aware of more?if yes, then how many?

The reason behind Para SF doing the lion share is because COIN operations mostly fall under the command of army ,who use their own boys .
There was Umakant Panigrahi , a CT expert in the MARCOS(probably East) who KIA'ed in 2003. The one you are talking about is Chandrashekhar, don't know about any other KIA's, if any.

Ghost and Boris i don't think you could just compare MARCOS and PARA,coz both are of different roles,PARA may not work with ass much as eas MARCOS does in amphibious environment, same goes for MARCOS in desert or mountains. Also there is very big factor we are not considering,PARA draws men mostly from infantry who are trained from the very beginning on land warfare, how to respond to an ambush etc, where as Marcos are exclusively from naval men who don't have that much basic training in land warfare.
But at the same time i do have some doubts on the capabilities of PARA on earlier times as 21st PARA for example was converted directly from a pure infantry regiment to SF overnight and said that all the officers and en were SF qualified .Lol.
Considering the casualties of PARA,it is the high brass that had to be complained of to call PARA for each and every operation when RR could do the same,so maximum number of ops means heavy chances o casualties. But the operational experience is another matter which adds up the quality off any SF.
PS:Rcently i had a chat with a military nurse in Navy he said that couple of years ago he was stationed at SriLanka attached to the MARCOS unit stationed there.Though he couldn't share much as he was just a nurse and not MARCO,though he speculated that our SF had played some role in the downfall of LTTE.

Very true, Paras, Marcos and Garuds are among the best in their specific roles. The true jack of all trade SF units would be the SG who undergo training in various modules including Amphibious, Jungle, Mountain, COIN and other ops. Paras SF are similar to Delta/green Berets, Marcos are akin to SEALS/SBS/ST6, Garuds are very similar to 24th STS, SG have lot of commonalities to the SAD

21 Para(SF) during conversion made everyone go through the SF probation, only the CO and another young officer cleared from the officer ranks. It has been discussed on Bharat Rakshak before. The same process was followed for 2,3,4 Para when they were converted to Para(SF), everyone had to go through the SF probation though since they were Para the success rate was much higher.

NSG is an elite unit mainly for CLOSE QUARTER BATTLE jobs.so a short barreled weapon is ideal for them than regular length ones..SIG552 had some reliability problems in past and they had refffined them and made SIG553

Who says they don't? See those P-rails on the side of the NSG's helmets? What do you think they are for? Body-worn cameras were part of the NSG's 2011-2015 modernisation roadmap.
Okay thanks,...How do they work ?
I mean where recording takes place and battery?
It looks very tiny device.
