What if research on Brahmos -M help us in reducing dia of brahmos main ? let say brahmos Block -V , as Barak-8 is around of 0.54 m ,even a 600 mm dia brahmos would be a great stuff

According to me BrahMos' main body is 0.52m in dia whereas launcher canister is 0.65-0.70m in diameter. These canister are used as a refill for UVLM...

    ----------------------------------------

VLS MK41 -- a very great design of so called Universal VLS for varied of missiles...and NG vls will have larger diameter for big missiles or both cold and hot launch cells

Indian Navy gets logistics base east of Malacca in Singapore

India and Singapore on Wednesday signed a Navy-to-Navy agreement. Defence Minister of Singapore Dr Ng Eng Hens at a joint press conference with his Indian counterpart Nirmala Sitharaman said: “We encourage Indian Navy to visit Changi base (Singapore) more often. The bilateral Navy agreement has the mutual logistics support.”

10 ships and eight aircraft involved in SAR efforts as of yesterday. This is addition to ships and aircraft deployed at choke points around the IOR for 24x7 surveillance. Major, major deployment cycle.

Proud of the Navy, an organisation that I have close ties to, as it celebrates the 46th anniversary of Op Trident.

Happy Navy Day to all DFIans! Shano Varuna and Jai Hind!

Isn't delhi class an ancient ship? It was launched in early 1990s. Obviously, it will have older russian missiles

You crazy dude, Delhi class ancient?!! Hahahahaha.

Ships are not set aside after 5-6 years of service. They serve for several decades. If the Delhi is ancient, what about the Nimitz, she was commissioned in 1975! Four decades and more of service!

The Delhi class is a formidable ship that many navies across the world would kill to have (especially the RN). 16 SSN-25 Switchblades (the Uran) are no joke and backed up by a 100mm main gun, 2 Shtil systems and 32 Barak-1s, the Delhi class is quite capable a ship.

Relative to Brahmos and Barak-8, it is ancient. I jokingly used the term 'ancient'

that's what we are trying to find. Delhi class probably upgraded with Brahmos missiles recently.
all destroyer classes of Indian Navy can be heavily upgradable.

That makes it 8 Brahmos (as good as a Teg class).. The Revati is surely an upgrade over the older MR-310 Angara. And this is D51, I think? Can't see properly! That means this is the Rajput, a ship that has seen 46 years of service.

The fact that the Navy is upgrading her shows you just how seaworthy the hull still is!
