We, Indian Americans do not need to be Black Americans. Just this one example can not paint 3 million Indian Americans who have succeeded due to their talent, hard work and being law abiding citizens.. Most Americans know Indian Americans as non violent , disciplined, productive people who refuse to be pest on their adopted motherland. This one example of a liar, deceitful person can not destroy the image of Indian Americans.

Not surprising. Asians are being systematically discriminated in the field of education and underachieving jokers from Black and Latino communities sail through because "can't be racist to them".
Hate to quote George Bush Jr. (originally belongs to Michael Gerson) but it a simple case of "soft bigotry of low expectations". Instead of bringing up the standards of Black and Latino communities, institutions are striving hard to undercut the achievements of Asians. Equally applicable to the fucked up education system here.
The appeasement that they get is minuscule compared to the kind of mass the nigga community and the Latino community has. What they have now is akin to a lollypop. They are giving a small push to those who are relatively well off to get them over to the relatively well off side of the fence. The affirmative action is not 50% reservation (+ fee waiver) like we have in India. It's just enough for them to say "we lowered the bar for you, you are still a bum..yeah, you too Juan, go cut some grass now".

Most of them get filtered during their highschool, the rest drop out of the course due to a lack of family/community ecosystem that supports studying a professional course and successfuly completing it.
