Never heard about this company CMIE. Good to see new player in the league.:biggrin2:
Now, as information market is expanding at such rate, I'm expecting a Start Up to make a search engine, online video service and Application Downloaders, Social Websites etc. like America's Google, Go Duck, Bling, Facebook, Twitter, Russia's Yandex and China's BaiDu, ReneRen, Weibo and Soso, UK's info.com etc.. Just my wishful thinking.
What do you guys think?

This is easier done if most of the transactions are done using credit or debit cards. Much of Indian economy is still cash based, the people are not particularly motivated to use cards, partially because they don't always trust the modern forms of payment. The recent hacks into Indian credit cards does not help.

if i remember ,during my college days there use to be few Indian social networking sites..what happened to them did they survive ?did they receive backing ..simple answer is NO..
In online retail market we have allowed AMAZON ,, just wait .this will eat away our flipkart, snapdeal etc..

No point in recreating the things that have already been created.
Innovation is the only way forward.

The prices are decided by cartel of oil companies

And

I don't understand how petrol prices in remain around 64-70 rupees

Even when

Crude prices go up to 120$ a barrel
Crude prices go down to 40$ a barrel
Crude prices go up to 50$ a barrel

Some magical free markets
Assuming this is a genuine question..

There are two aspects to this answer.
1) At higher crude prices, govt used to give a subsidy to keep the prices at 55-60 rs. Now the subsidy is taken away.
2) the revenue (if any) is being diverted to construction of roads and infra structure. Look at roads ministry tenders, now a days they are releasing tenders for atleast 50-100 km a week. Highways cost atleast 10-15 crores per km. That money should come from somewhere...

The crude oil prices are bound to increase at some time within this decade, as the price drop was more political in nature. Keep the same prices will ensure no shocks to the economy at that time.

Authorities eye fast-track registry of over 50,000 flats in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway

New Delhi: As buyers struggle to get their flats registered due to non-payment of dues and delays by builders, the Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway authorities have proposed a fast-track scheme for grant of NOCs for finished units even if the entire project is yet to be completed - a move that may benefit at least 50,000 buyers.
Under the proposal, which would come into effect after approval by the UP government, the NOC (No Objection Certificate) for registry of these flats would be granted after payment of proportionate dues and a 10 per cent surcharge by the builder.
In Greater Noida alone, up to 20,000 flat buyers may benefit immediately from the scheme, while the number is even higher in Noida where a large number of flats have been completed but are yet to be registered due to lack of NOC from the authorities. The number of such flats is relatively smaller in the Yamuna Expressway area, but the total number would exceed 50,000 flats across the three areas.
In many cases, the buyers have already started living in these flats and are awaiting registration of the flats.
"The Boards of all three authorities -- Noida Authority, Greater Noida Authority and the Yamuna Expressway Authority -- have approved the proposal and it will be now sent to the UP government. It (the scheme) will come into effect after the UP Government approves it," the Greater Noida Authority CEO Deepak Agarwal told PTI.
He said that 17,000-20,000 flat-buyers can immediately benefit under this scheme as these flats are already completed.
Under the proposal, the builder will have to pay the proportionate dues -- total dues for the entire project divided by the number of completed flats -- and a 10 per cent additional charge to get the NOC.
Under current rules, NOCs are granted only after payment of all dues, including for the land and other charges for the entire project.
However, the proposed scheme may allow grant of NOC even for a single flat after payment of the proportionate dues and the additional 10 per cent charge.
A number of builders in the region are facing the heat of the buyers and the general public in the wake of years of delay in grant of possession.
While many builders have begun giving possession for the completed units, even if the entire project is not completed, the registration of flats is not happening in those cases.
This is causing difficulties for flat-buyers in getting benefits like electricity and water connections and they have to manage with alternatives like water tankers and generators.

Wow nice sanskaari name u have.I bet congress and AMIM will have problem with that..

I also bet we can make much better search engine .. the problem is it has to compete with Google giant.. i remember at one point in time Yahoo search engines and about.com were popular too but couldnt stand test of the time against google.

In China ,for their search engine to succeed they banned google same with twitter.. and i dnt know how russian search engine is doing .,if its doing well then it means Gvt has made investemnt/backing the search engine as google is not banned there..

So our search engine survive only when GOI backs it.. which i dnt think will do. Google will armtwis the gvt on this.. from private to gvt sectors all use google..

But we can have wiki.. because it not a giant company like google .its like bunch of enthusiast maintaining site working on public donation

Do we really need our own Homemade search engine ?? I mean, we are not a dictatorship where we need to censor every anti-state piece of data !! I think that Google is fine and google.co.in is good enough for India centric information.

there should be alternative .. dnt let a single corp dominate the marke or society..
why do we need Micromax if samsung is already here??

in the age of internet the more control over internet u have the better it is.. I remember a case when google map was launched and some secret military info got leaked..Govt had to plead google to remove such content.. Dnt forget Google is a US based company its bounded by US policy mostly.. if u have to take down a sensitive video from youtube ,,lot of Drama has to be done..

and US NSA case is open to all .. where Facebook, google etc helped US gvt to Spy over countries.. China banned google for some purpose.. I am not saying ban it in India ,all i am asking is for some alternative ,dnt let it dominate over society solely..

what makes u think the stuff u read on wiki is ulitimate Truth??.. lots of bull and propaganda is there. i dnt want to drag topic there..

Question is not for our information, question is for information being leaked to whom it must not and who actually must get has to pay high prize for a little part making the Google world's no. 1 search engine in terms of revenue.:frusty:

Do you know why Google and Facebook are such big companies just with social media which has such low charges?o_O

Information! We join social sites, post info here, about ourselves. Social Media giants and search engines usually have high level of statistics about mood/mentality of people (what they search), their personal details, daily routines, observations in military camps and other data, generally higher than government.

They earn money by selling this information to government for surveys or intelligence etc.. And they don't give GOI everything. A lot is stored by them away from GOI used by their compatriots (yankees). And this is the reason CIA has a World Factbook but R&AW doesn't.
They are spying on us.
:frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty::frusty:

Britain made it's own info.com to challenge Google's Monopoly.
Question is not for creating alternative↓↓↓↓;

Specially social sites and messangers is not a tough job for India. They already exist actually. Online Video Service like Infeedia is available but must be improved to compete with YouTube.

Problem is making search engine, which can consume a few billions and 5-10 years for development. Problem is India's ignorant people and data till date admitted to foreigners.
We can't ban them to implement our system because we still need their data till our own system gets mature.

And not only Wiki, Google too does a lot of propaganda for yankees and against India.

I completely disagree with @republic_roi97 here. Being Democratic doesn't mean subjecting people to foreign propaganda. Banning it is not communist dictatorship but not doing is slavery. It's a war of information, helpful in hacking, China and Russia have very good reasons to do so.

Ok Ok guys chill, now I agree that we should have our own search engine, at the time of my last post I didn't think about it with regards to these points that u all made :hail::hail:. I was merely thinking about the work of search engine in general LOL. Please don't kill me :scared1::prison:
dnt feel shy.. For a debate to proceed we need different minds ,minds capable thinking in both direction..if we all become like minded then there cant be a debate and thoughts dnt get polished..

I can validate ur logic from an American perspective.. to have a common search engine and a single data base that keeps record of nations is good for the country that wants to dominate over the world..

cheers:daru:
