LONDON: The owner of an Indian restaurant in Britain has bought a fighter jet to deliver his food to celebrity clients across the world.

Rob Abdul, 40, who runs the Cafe Taj restaurant in Gravesend, Kent, bought the now abandoned Iraqi warplane with a pilot friend, and has spent 35,000 pounds ($55,000) restoring it.

"One thing you cannot do as a businessman is disappoint your customers. I regularly get requests from around the world," Abdul was quoted as saying by the Daily Express.

Abdul has previously sent food from his restaurant to the England cricket team on tour to Australia.

Wow a fantastic concept, imagine serving a plate of CTM and you put in a note delivered fresh by a MIG 29.

Innovative idea.

Surely, a plate would cost a lot!

First of all the guy who orders in a restaurant in UK sitting in Australia, should be treated clinically for mental disorder. Second of all shame on you all to think this is innovative. This bull shit.

If any retards food takes 500ltrs of jet fuel for one meal, he should be tied to the tree and flogged till he lets go of the crazyness.

Ah, the beauty of capitalism. Fighter jet served foods... You can always look for excuses to jack up your prices, but of course the intended customer can always refuse...

There are enough rich people in a 4 hour flying radius who could be potential customers.

Plus all this is surely getting him more publicity than a publicity campaign of GBP 55,000 that they paid for the aircraft.

That was just to restore the aircraft. The Aircraft itself costs more.

I second that. Besides this is not a successful business model, at least not in the present.

Here it is mentioned that he sent his food to the English cricket team to Australia

SO this means that his only orders will come when large rich groups such as cricket teams or business delegations
travel abroad AND they dont find their favourite cuisine where they are staying

SO for carrying A few tonnes of a special dish quickly it is a good idea

But how will he criss cross the air space of a different countries

What will be the call signs ?

Which routes will be allowed Because civilian and military flights fly on different paths
