When comes to protection Patka comes better than any-other helmet And first preference in CT environment ..

Other helmets are their for conventional warfare which are light and provide all round protection but only from 9x19mm rounds and sharpnels ..

Don't know if these are recent procurement by MOD (Which is good) or purchased from his own pocket because in some other pic of RR/ Ghatak I've seen different Handgrip and no sight on their AKs but only on MP 9 with Zeiss sight.

MOD did a procurement of sights but i didnt know about the forward handgrip.

I think if we modify our ARs with accessories it will be a great force multiplier for the jawan.

Their are various Private firms offering such upgrades, Either individual Officer / Solider get written permission to do required modification on his weapon ( Mostly done on captured weapon ) or bulk modification done on request by unit under permission from higher command, Their is a Israeli company doing their business via an Indian company who is offering hand-guard with other accessories ..

Money is from Unit`s own pocket or Individual Officer / Solider ..

So the New Modern Helmets Which are coming are they gonna replace the conventional warfare helmets or both patka and conventional helmets and how good are Patkas compared to chinese helmets

Only commanders of small infantry formation like squad or platoon will have that helmet, Units serving on front lines will get these helmets first ..

And now they admit that he wasn't captured as part of the surgical strike which they and the idiots at the Pakistani forum were insisting on earlier.


According to an ISPR statement, Sepoy Chavan, stationed in Jammu and Kashmir, “deserted his post at the LOC due to his grievances of maltreatment against his commanders”.

Except for the sights a good kit can be maintained @10000 rs which is an affordable cost even for a newly recruited Sepoy


This include Tactical Vests/ plate carrier , Boots, knee pads etc. Many Para Sf or regulars choose to buy it by their own pocket.

So such things should be available in the Wet Canteen then.
