https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/view/56759186/memories-incredible-kalam

Link with entire book was earlier available on the DRDO website, book has 264 pages,

what is now put on DRDO website has only 23 pages :crying:

enjoy.....................:biggrin2:

so what ever baby steps Pak has taken so far we have taken those in 1994, just MIRV was not attempted for obvious reasons, we didn't need that, now that Pak is attempting to get MIRV, with lots of experience, we should do it.

BTW same book also says that A3 and above will be all MIRV, its interesting reading into DRDO and how they worked all these years.

This also helped us make BMD.

MIRV is first step to make Multiple Kill Vehicles (MKV), so we need to make it faster and then go to next stage of testing MKV.

Let Pak get into arms race which they can't afford with us.

BTW waiting for MIRV.

Seems like there's much confusion on the missile interceptions:

Ballistic missiles travel in a parabolic trajectory. In there mid course the missile is several hundreds (maybe even about a thousand) kms away from the earth's surface.

Essentially a ballistic missile can be intercepted at the Terminal, Mid-Course or at Boost phase! Irrespective of where the interception missiles are launched from.

Terminal phase interception requires shorter range and shorter altitude (100-200 kms) missiles. These are normally placed close to the cities/assets that you want to protect.

Mid-course interception requires long range, high altitude missiles (1000+ kms). These can be land based or ship based.

Boost phase interception is extremely difficult!! Even though there are attempts to use lasers etc. Right now PDV/AAD is Terminal phase interception missile!

Mounting a Terminal phase interception missile on a ship is not very fruitful - at best it'll protect the ship or the city where the ship is anchored!
Only Terminal phase interception is proven as of yet.

Mid-Course interception took a back seat in 2008 and program got delayed. IDT10 was just installed near rochester back in 2016 and the program is taking shape.

Boost phase interception interception is not as hard as Mid-Course interception as Mid-course interception needs a lot of data as well as inputs from C&C for interception, Lockheed was playing with this idea with PAC3 for boost phase interception but I guess not much is out there only the inside guys knows where the program currently stands, it's up in wraps now.

Avinash Chander also points to a big boost that the interceptor system will give. “This helps India create a credible defence system against rogue attacks. With the new interceptor missile defence system, India is set to get 24/7 vigilance, practically with no single person needed,” said Chander who is also the architect of India’s Agni missiles.
According to Avinash Chander, India can now start thinking of an interceptor for long ranges as well. “Chinese missiles are generally of longer range, but with the current success, India definitely gets the confidence to build a new more advanced system that will eventually counter those too. This is a totally indigenous system, builds long-term self reliance and with the ecosystem, it feeds in to complement other defence systems as well,” he noted.
“Once the system is tested and goes into production, it will create an entire indigenous defence manufacturing ecosystem that will go a long way in helping India,

Its high time that we need exclusive Missile Defence Agency for our BMD, that will fund all the BMD activity in the country.

DRDO sometimes is underfunded and they have lot of area to cover, MDA should fund it directly and set up ecosystem where private players play larger part.

It will help India get Defence Shield fast.

Can you for once stop repeating this bullshit again & again?
Looks like fanboy just can't accept that their magic doesn't work as good as they think.

If Paki deterrent worked as efficiently as you say it did their salwars wouldn't turn brown with the mere mention of CSD.
If their deterrent doesn't work, you don't need even to mention of CSD.

Dayum son, that is one hell of a comeback.

No ya moron, Indian army replaced Sundarji doctrine with CSD because of the lessons learnt from Op. Parakram. You can't "punish" Pakistan for a terrorist attack if you need a month for your mobilization.

Magic may or may not be very good but at least "magic" existing on our side isn't on other one.
Their hopes have to be stuck at that somehow Indian anti missile shields,
If India has achieved 87% kill probability (based on test) against missiles of upto 2,000-2,500 kms range, means we have 13% chances being hit
But Pakistan, it's assured, Pakistan is destined to be nuked at any nuclear escalation, it has no defence system.
If India may not be able to defend itself, Pakistan will not be able to so. It has no chances of survival.
Simple is that.:)
(And good to see a Chinese member "well wishing" for Pakistanis, wants Pakistan to act as a suicide bomber for PRC in your previous comment. Pakistanis must be loving this goodwill.)
@Neo look at your all weather friend!

India did MaRV in 1994 when they tested Agni TD, its official now, on drdo website..........
MARV is old technology where warhead veers in its terminal stage. What Russia has done with Sarmat is absolute pinnacle of technology where the missile literally starts changing direction from the moment it flies. So for example a Russian missile launched from Moscow may be detected by NATO radars in Europe but the missile will immediately change direction to fly to US from Africa. This technology cannot even be intercepted in next 2 generations.

India is not US either. At least, the tech between India and US is bigger than the one between Pakistan and Russia.

Doesn't matter, so far India hasn't test her BMD against that level of missiles yet.

With only 2 mach speed and 90km range, Barak 8's window will be very very narrow.
Russian and American don't agree with you.

Pakistan is not Russia that they have a technological and military monster like US to fight.
Tech between India and US is bigger than Pakistan and Russia.
Son u need to get a hang of what u are smoking. US (which is stronger than China) is simply no match for Russian firepower. Russia has certain critical technologies (like ultra powerful EMPs, 100MT+nukes, hypersonic missiles small enough to be launched from a tug boat,Air Defence systems like S500) that simply have no equal. The only country comparable to them (albeit in certain niche areas only) is Israel. India will use a multilayer system to bring down Paki projectiles and Indian defences are a combination of 2 best:Russia (S400) and Israel (Barak, Arrow (PDV is based on Arrow) and spyder). Barak is optimized to destroy pakistani cruise missile like Babur. As for their BMs,Im sure that with continuous effort and our current success along with Russian help we will find a foolproof cure, Russia has shown that in Science and technology , nothing is impossible.

And imagine Russians are world's number 1 military power with mere 50billion in defence budget whereas US is a number 2 power and China is number 3 power with 1 trillion and 250billion USD respectively. If I were American govt, I would thrash the lockheed martin guys for sucking me bone dry and still i am number 2 not number 1.

How do you surmise that Russia is "world number 1"?

I never really got the logic of ranking countries based on their relative military strength. You can classify them based on relative military power. But any attempt at ranking them, and that too in absolute terms (rather than a comparison based on a certain mission profile or situation), is doomed to fail.

Russia is a well defended land. US and China are just as well defended. However, in terms of global offensive capability, even UK trumps Russia (UK has its entire force oriented towards something like that, where as Russian military is purely focused on border defence and Europe offence). Rankings are relative and highly subjective to the focus of each military and the situation for which you are comparing them.

For some specialist tasks (such as searching for a submarine in a limited area), a French or UK military force will be more suitable than a US, Chinese or Russian military force. However, wherever quantity matters the most (such as searching for a submarine in an entire ocean), US, Russia,China, India become much more "powerful" than any EU military.

Superb!!! Now all we need is a better, more mobile TEL.

Why? Are our TELs inferior in mobility? I used to think that they were all similar enough.

Other thing, Russia lags behind in EOTS and UVLS systems. Even India has those.
