Problem is not Tejas as a product, but the capability of the industry to churn out acceptable quality in decent numbers.

India is trying to make a western style fighter from scratch and realizing support system is deficient.

So Gripen lends a hand as it brings economies of scale.

The contract is not yet signed for Gripen, so your questions about TOT cannot be answered. Only thing that can be said is SAAB is far more flexible.

French are inflexible on price as well as offsets.

Gripen will come with 100% offsets that will give big boost to local aviation sector.

It is in the new that Qatar confirms the Rafale order and deliveries will complete in 2022/23 with current production rates so even if IAF confirms the order Jets will not be delivered to IAF till 2023.

Means deliveries will start 2023 in case of confirmation which could be completed 2026.

Remember that mig 21 could be in air for under 1hr Vs today many hrs + drop tanks + aerial refuelling.

You don't need the same quantity to saturate an airspace, that you once did. Yes, we should definitely have more but don't believe the shortage hype.

Our country is not going to end if IAF doesn’t get its imports.

Tejas Amca is way forward with pak fa su 35 super sukhoi for heavy.

NATO is simply too prone to using social (conformity to christianity) issues as excuse for sanctions.

The France of Kargil is dead, replaced by a france that joined nato under jew sarkozky.

Well if SAAB comes and delivers 100 Gripen E, establish a modern production line and make life better for LCA and quietly leaves then nothing could be better.

But i have doubts. Such as. How will IAF treat LCA once it starts receiving Gripen when IAF's love for imported weapon is well known? I am pretty sure another debate on lines of Pilatus vs HTT-40 will erupt, with active support and backing from SAAB, for which i can bet. Not to forget that IAF is now accepting LCA only because it failed to lay hands on Rafale. Furthermore, i chose to pay less concern to pace and quality of production. Because things get better only when it is done overtime and continuously. Let LCA be in production for 2 more years and most of concerns will be done away with.
