Re: India successfully tests submarine launched ballistic missile K-5/

Factually incorrect, UK has SLBMs and Israel has SLCMs (may have SLBMs).
UK uses Tridents of the US. Its not UK tech. Anything about Israel is unclear!

1st Pic is of gas generator
2nd pic first stage kick in (water and fire mix up)
3rd pic nose cap jet kick in
4th pic nose cap get out of the way
5th pic second stage is about to start completely, first stage is still ignited.
6th pic first stage is about to shut down
7th pic second stage about to start, first stage shut down.
8th pic second stage kick in, notice the differences of fumes and exhaust between first and second stage. Second stage is much stronger.

Israel does not need SLBM's their threat is in the vicinity.
Actually they do. It's a tiny nation and need survivable deterrence for second strike

The Samson option is the dumbest nuclear doctrine ever.

For those here who don't know what it is, it basically means if Israel is hit by nuclear weapons, Israel will nuke unrelated third parties. Rome, Moscow, Mecca, Karachi, Tehran, Istanbul, Cairo, Riyadh, Paris, and London were the cities listed in the example I was shown. Basically Israel is guaranteeing that its nuclear subs will be targeted by the navies of up to ten different countries as soon as Israel enters into a war with another nuclear-armed state. No matter how much the Brits or the French like Israel, none of them would allow Israel to shoot a nuke into Paris just because Jerusalem or Tel Aviv has been flattened. What's more, not all of those navies are pushovers either--the British, the Russians, and the French all have excellent ASW capabilities, and the Egyptians will always know the rough operating schedule of Israel's nuclear subs since they use the freaking Suez Canal for transit (and those subs have to transit the canal surfaced since the canal is too shallow for them to submerge.)

The Soviets solved the problem of everyone ganging up on them by having lots and lots of subs with lots and lots of nukes. The Israelis only have a few subs with a few nukes each, carried on slow-moving cruise missiles that can be shot down. Ergo, the survival rate of Israel's second strike capability will be abysmal.

IMHO The Samson option is a very logical doctrine. For a group of people who has been downtrodden for centuries, and still is, this is a very valid line of thought.

Please understand the undertone... The Samson option is based on the philosophy that if you see a crime underway and do nothing to stop it, you are as much a criminal as the person actually performing the crime.

Basically Israel is guaranteeing that its nuclear subs will be targeted by the navies of up to ten different countries as soon as Israel enters into a war with another nuclear-armed state.
Not at all. Israel is not ostracized in the International community. It would be very much more logical to help Israel than to do preemptive strikes on it's subs. No naval blockade is 100% foolproof. Also, attacking it's subs would bring the "Last Resort" scenario much closer than otherwise. This means, if International community attacks Israel's subs, it might trigger the Samson option which might not have been used otherwise.

Also it is believed Israel has Nuclear triad with over 400 multi-megaton warheads. Do you really believe not even 5% would get through?

Case & Point
In the 1973 Yom Kippur War, Arab forces were overwhelming Israeli forces and Prime Minister Golda Meir authorized a nuclear alert and ordered 13 atomic bombs be readied for use by missiles and aircraft. The Israeli Ambassador warned President Nixon of "very serious conclusions" if the United States did not airlift supplies. Nixon complied. This is seen by some commentators on the subject as the first threat of the use of the Samson Option.

The samson option is more or less for Israel's arab neighbors it could be viewed
as Israel's MAD doctrine which was also crazy two countries at war and the whole
world would pay for it.
