Business Line : Industry & Economy / Economy : India, Russia to study economic pact with Belarus, Kazhakstan India and Russia have jointly agreed to study a comprehensive economic cooperation agreement with Belarus, Khazakstan and the Russia Customs Union. This was indicated by the External Affairs Minister, Mr S. M. Krishna, after a meeting with the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Dmitry Rogozin, here on Tuesday. Mr Krishna said cooperation in strategic areas was also discussed at the meeting. â€œWe exchanged constructive views on various aspects of trade and investment cooperation between India and Russia,â€ the Minister said. He added that India had sought a solution to outstanding problems confronting businessmen and looked at ways of enhancing trade turnover. â€œWe agreed to redouble our efforts to achieve a $20-billion trade target by 2015," Mr Krishna said, adding that the figures for the first quarter â€œwere indeed encouragingâ€.
