Situation in Cuba during the 1960s doesn't apply to Sri Lankan context. China don't need Sri Lanka to station any missiles aimed at India. Besides I don't think they have any intention to challenge Indian navy in IOR by placing subs in Sri Lanka. It's very illogical and stupid.

Chinese sub can go anywhere. This is not the issue. Indian navy does not chase foreign navy subs. Foreign ships are only monitored if the approach is towards India's EEZ.

India has not blocked Malacca Strait. Such ideas are stupid.

The issue is what kind of role China is playing in SL and how it affects India. If such a role is considered detrimental then India will take appropriate action.

Visit of a ship or a sub is not a big deal.

Srilanka has every right to allow china to invest in their ports for econmical reasons. China is investing in srilanka which helps Srilanka to prosper.
