India's air force and navy have issued a tender requesting the supply of 100 mini unmanned air systems, with a selection decision anticipated before the end of the year.

Sources indicate that two companies have so far submitted proposals linked to the requirement, but that other manufacturers may yet join the competition.

BlueBird of Israel has offered its MicroB system (below), while US company AeroVironment is believed to be offering its Puma or Raven designs.

The mini-UAS acquisition forms part of a wider initiative to increase the Indian military's use of unmanned systems.
