    Concept is great.

    Money is scarce.

Only way out is higher taxes - all type of taxes!

After all the Govt cannot abandon the subsidies already in vogue or bin the populist programmes that they have already launched.

As a layman, it appears to be the right recipe for disaster.

Sir, don't you think this move by Congress just secured them the 2014 LS election?

Another populist scheme. Government has no proper storage system and proper delivery system, a large chunk will be stolen, too. In spite of wasting money behind this, they could have continue to subsidize Petrol and diesel, if they really want to spend money. This is insanity. Even if they lose, this burden would be carry forward on other government and if it discontinues this bill, Congress would get another reason to bash.

    I wonder.

Their scams and other misdeed and lack of governance and inflation will still be there.

This scheme will never get the steam it desires, since there is no money.

If the Govt want to cut corners to ensure that this scheme at least kicks off, they will have a situation of Robbing Peter to Pay Paul, resulting in displeasing Peter and also displeasing Paul.

Not that another cobbled up alliance of another set of political party will be better, but then the very fact that this incompetent coterie is gone along with the remote control, will be enough for one to breath a sigh of relief and hope for the best.
