India-Israel Joint Airforce Exercises?

Did Indian Airforce ever had a Air Exercises with Israel Airforce?.


IAF has a lot of Exercises with other freindly Nations but Surprising till now we didnt have even once excercise with our close friend & an expert airforce Israel.

In the recent 2006 and present 2007 we had Exercises French, USAF and Royal Airforce. Singapore, France & Americans are having regular excercises with IAF, Infact France is our oldest partner in this is Britain, South Africa and Others .



The Point is there is an Intresting Fact.

India - maintance Mig-29, Su-30, Mig-23,Mig-21 and many Other MiG Variants
Israel - maintance F-16,F-15 and also some Mirage-III
Both Countries Enemy nations maintance same Aircrafts

Pakistan-operates F-16, Mirage-III &V
Syria - operates Mig-29, Mig-23, Mig-21
Other Middile East Coutries Opertaes MiG Variants

So why dont India and Israel have Close Air-Exercises and get to know eacother Aircraft Capabilites. Israel can give us information about F-16s & Mirage-IIIs and Israel can learn about MiGs and Sukhois. But Offcourse the Tactics and Doctrine will wont be same but still once can learn a lot more about these Aircraft then hearing it.

Indian Airforce can get some classified info about F-16s from israel & take necessary steps to counter it.

That would be an ultimate thing when both the IAFs will be practicing their manouvres together. If this comes true in near future then it would send a strong message across our borders, but to hope for this under this UPA is very unlikely. Wait for BJP or NDA and you can surely see this.

True India with Russian systems has defeated largely American systems an the reverse is true for Israel. The two countries have a lot to share and must be sharing on a regular basis.

It might be a case but Iran being intimidated by it is invalid for us to be intimidated. We should set the course of our policy on national interest and just sail on it.
If someone is so paranoid about it, so be it. You would want to have as many friends as possible.
I remember that incident where they asked an Israeli flag to be removed from a hotel.

Well we are not a giant of anything, moreover this is business and in business we have to be careful not to hamper our supply lines. Oil is the most important commodity for economic growth, even if we have moved closer to Saudi because of USAs help we still rely traditionally on Iran.

You also mistake our sense of pride which is essential to have good self-esteem with arrogance.

we will be most intersected in mock fighting with the new mig 29 variants (k,smt)

Already the mumbai bomb blast has been traced to a phone in Iran. We are not like the US or Europe or even China which are cut of by ocean or geography to talk tough, that has been our biggest curse, we live bang in between everything, so we need to be more sensitive. Israel lives in similar if not worst condition but the thing about the Israelis is that they don't repeat the same mistakes over and over again plus their politicians have balls where national interest comes first.

Yeah as if Israelis are that stupid note that IAF has been learning to tackle the F-16 since they were inducted by PAF in 1980s at that time we have Mig-29 to tackle them...

Conspiracy theorists are always paranoid, if we don't have joint exercises we are plotting some "secret" Yindoo-Zionist scheme to take over the world financially.
If we do have them then it marks the commencement of world war 3 between the forces of Pak-Chin and who knows who....

Politics aside, these exercises would be very useful for our Air-force, you don't get o learn about the F-16 every day and that too the top of the line Israeli variant.
Politically, it would send a message to a lot of guys who think they can roll over us, China included, Iran can think whatever it wants nobody is gonna buy their oil anyways(apart from China).
The fact that we are even thinking of placing whims of a paranoid President/Dictator over our national interests should shame us, however we must define our interests clearly and with zero ambiguity, whether we want to be a global midget by bargaining from a position of weakness or do we want to take a stand to serve our people for once.

I would have loved to see such a thing happen, but the chances are too slim, even in the future !

I don't think India's Muslims would take this lightly and neither would the Arabs in Middle East, hell it could turn out to be a foreign policy nightmare ! Even though an NDA disposition may be able to arrange it, but I doubt that it would go through.

The best thing would be, we get invited to a multi-national exercise that also has Israel in it, that's the best that we can hope for.

LF, you forget they are there for peace keeping purpose under UN mandate which has been approved a majority of the UN, so nobody makes a fuss when UN involved anywhere, you see.
