India is now over 2 trillion dollar economy

What ever positive growth story we have seen in the country is without even revenues generated from the new initiatives, which is a good thing. This indicates that the country has potential which could not be utilised properly.

Examples New initiatives are:
1) land bill
2) payments bank
3) dedicated freight corridor
4) industrial corridor

Two big ticket items where govt has taken action are infrastructure spending and on electricity infrastructure . These two and many good policy interventions are responsible for the positive mood so far.

New initiatives are not expected to have an impact till 2018-19, until then govt has to focus on policies to create good economic atmosphere.

The actual good times will come from 2019 onwards.

@jouni this has never been a priority. The main thrust has been to cater to all corners of the country and to transport over 8.4 Billion passengers last year. The railway network has 115,000 kms of Rail track spread all over India. It carried over 1 Billion tons of freight last year.

Can you compare that? No.

Sorry about OT, but was the documentary banned in India? Forum members have not seen it? I just wanna know it, then no more OT.

The documentary maker, claimed , and got access to the perpetrator on the grounds of "social research" , a purely academic exercise. She was also supposed to get her footage cleared from the home ministry.
In the end the film, rather than combating social evils or being "anti-rape" pulled an apex fallacy and came out pretty voyeuristic. It was banned from TV as it violated these access terms. Everyone has seen it on YouTube.

Not really. Both serve different functions.
PPP is good when you want to account for difference in input/ living costs
e.g. GDP(PPP) is good when you want to measure and compare the size of e.g. Vegetable market in say Europe and India.
GDP(Nominal) is good when you want to compare financial strength between say US and China or India and PAK.
Apples to oranges.
