I cannot stress upon this point enough... many members here tend to cut/paste articles/videos etc. etc one after another without offering any insight of their own. This is an entirely pointless endeavor and a waste of bandwidth. A simple link would suffice. The whole point of a forum is to share your thoughts upon the matter at hand. The story has already been reported by someone else.
Yes, it is not surprising that India has the highest degree of child labor in the world. This is a mix of sheer numbers, a long history of child labor specific industries, a general level of acceptance of this abhorrent practice, crushing poverty, lack of opportunities and many other compounding problems. Like almost all other large scale societal ills the contributing factors can be broadly grouped into "structural" and "cultural."
Since this is your thread, it would be nice if you were to give it some direction by broaching the specifics of the topic.
