Please don't spoil Mother Terasa's name with such threads based on worthless people!

At least for all that she has done for the sake of humanity, let her at peace!

    Close this thread.

So far no replies except " :lalala: MT was a good, godly person" . Cmon guys, use your critical thinking abilities, try to debate points of the article, offer counter points if you don't agree

From what I read, she was a good preacher and missionary. One look at her Nobel Prize Speech tell us that it is full of missionary and preacher language. Also I don't like the fact that she encouraged the raped women during 1971 genocide of bangladeshis not to abort the babies. She may be a good person but viewed everything from the prism of Catholicism. Anyways, that's my view.

Running an NGO has been a profitable business for a long time. Poverty sells. Remember there was a time when tr westeners came to see poverty, beggars, snake charmers.

If the article is true then there is no surprise in it. Today anything is a money making venture if sold well.

For every person who dedicates his life to helping the helpless, there will be 100000 intellectuals or atheists who will tell us why it means nothing. So goes the world.

Why is this a subject for DFI?

We're still avoiding debate. The articles say that she made the problems worse and did not actually help people. Let me exract a few points

    1. She actually liked poverty and suffering
    2. She was against birth control, which exacerbated the problems from Bangladeshi refugees
    3. Church ran a big PR campaign, and obviously we all know how political the Nobel Peace prize is

    Some more extracts

India should sue Mother Teresa's organization for loss of revenue from tourism. Seek justice from the court.

I still don't get the reluctance. Why... we've had multiple threads on Gandhi (the 'Father of our Nation'), we've scrutinized him, had all kinds of viewpoints. Don't know why this particular topic suddenly becomes uber holy
