First India need to have few JDAMS and know how tech then we can have our own..
GPS System Accuracy Indian IRNSS will activate around 2014 and GLONASS is practically restored (21 of 24 satellites are operational by April 2010 ). If IRNSS to be compatible with the GLONASS system. The receivers will be able to combine the signals from both IRNSS and GLONASS satellites to greatly increase the accuracy...

I still have a doubt or confusion about it . Are we still working on Glonass or somehow satellites used for Gagan are also used along with Glonass.
GAGAN uses GPS signals as of now will be able to take GLONASS in future the final signing about co operation agreement has to signed so we don't know about future weather GLONASS will be used or not, but in longer term we will be seeing GINS

yeah true yusuf, just imagine the situation where we are at war using these GPS guided bombs and USA turning off their GPS.
India does not have access to military grade GPS signals.

Very Important Article regarding the BOMB..

India set to acquire precision bomb technology
It's no surprise then that the staterun Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) is negotiating the acquisition of allweather precision bomb technology from US arms major Raytheon. Ben Ford, senior manager of Raytheon Missile Systems, told India Strategic at the Paris Air Show that Raytheon was in discussions with OFB to transfer the technology for the Enhanced Paveway-II Dual Mode GPS/Laser Guided Bombs for their indigenous manufacture in India.

With both the GPS and Laser Guidance capability on the same bomb, the chances for collateral damage would also be minimal.

Ford also said that the Paveway II had provision for "in-flight wind corrections" while there was scope for building additional data link capability.

Date was 2007!
I doubt its only GPS, In present it may be Glonass in future it will be GINS..

India develops first Laser Guided Bomb

DEHRADUN: India has developed its first Laser Guided Bomb (LGB), a weapon that can hit a target with greater accuracy, with technological support from city-based Instrument Research and Development Establishment (IRDE).

The development of technology for producing Laser Guided Bomb is part of ongoing research towards achieving self-dependency in the defence area being done in IRDE, a lab of DRDO, Scientist and Public Relation Officer of IRDE told PTI.

The LGB uses a laser designator to mark or illuminate a target. The reflected laser light from the target is then detected by the seeker which sends signals to the weapon's control surfaces to guide it towards the designated point, he said.

Bangalore-based Aeronautics Development Establishment ( ADE) has developed the guidance-kit for 1000-pound LGBs and these are designed to improve the accuracy of air-to-ground bombing by IAF.

The guidance kit of LGB consists of a computer control group (CCG), guidance canards attached to the front of the warhead for providing steering commands and a wing assembly attached to the aft end to provide lift.

India had already carried out two successful flight trials of LGB for the IAF to test the effectiveness of the guidance and control systems at Chandipur integrated test range in Orissa early this year.

LGBs are manoeuvrable, free-fall weapons requiring no electronic interconnect to the aircraft and attack the target with higher accuracy and reliability.

The LGBs were first developed by USA in 1960s. Later, Russia, France and Britain also developed them.

^^ Didn't the IAF Mirages test drop the local LGBs some months back? I thought that tests are over and induction should have started by now.

Think the recent tests are end user tests, which are being made to check the effectiveness and reliability of the control systems or it might be an upgraded version.
