Everything on paper. They must have started the design phase now. First flight target seems to be 2015. Induction in 2017.

EDIT: It will be the size of LCA, will be powered by the Kaveri engine. I think internal payload capacity will be anywhere between 2 to 3 tons, this will allow it to carry 2 KAB-1500(1500Kg LGB) or 2 Sudarshan equipped 1000Kg LGB(most probably this). Then there will be options for 100Kg and 250Kg bombs as well.

No idea if they plan on equipping it with small cruise missiles like the Tauras or Storm Shadow which are of similar dimension and weight as the KAB-1500. If the bays cannot handle the KAB-1500, then forget it. We may need lighter cruise missiles like Harpoon or Exocet.

They said it is capable of protecting itself. So, I am not sure if they mean it will carry a radar and A2A missiles as well. But 2 WVR missiles are not difficult to implement. However a radar will give it CM capability.

The MTOW will be a little less than 15 tons. So, that's around LCA's MTOW.
