In a first, women of armed forces to march on R-Day - The Times of India
Oh this is awesome and will be really great for PR as the eyes of every American news station are trained upon India that day. I really hope they go all out and produce one hell of a republic day parade. A lot of Americans have very foolish views of India as some sort of a giant 3rd world slum only. Very excited as the entire nation of America will watch, many will see a very impressive side of India for a change.
Right...Americans are used to being shown cows wandering on streets, snake charmers and dirty slums ...by biased ,hateful mainstream media. This has been done for decades to mislead American people and paint India as poor and weak. US media is slowly coming to sense as it is becoming very hard to mislead public as nobody trusts mainstream media anymore.
While there is much more to India than shown in the media, the image of India as a 3rd world country is not untrue either.India is still a very poor country with a very bad infrastructure and socio economic life. But things are changing rapidly
I can understand why womens are not tranined for combat roles .I mean train them but donot send them on far front.
At least they can be ready in case of dramatic situation
Yes that is why I used the term "only" most of them other than people in politics don't even realize the "other" side. It will be very beneficial for India to be seen by the general American public as more than just one big slum. This is an absolutely golden opportunity at very low cost for us. The entire nation of America will see republic day, as it will be on every news channel.
no, that credit mostly goes to british and their bbc,
their any documentary even if its a cuisine documentary is always starts with "india....and 'the' poverty" like people of world dont know whats poverty and only one can see the pinnacle of poverty.
Yes the BBC is really bad. Really all of them in the west are really bad for the most part. It is as if they need to show the poverty because that is what their audience craves. They need some people to feel better than, or their own lives feel dull and meaning less. This is why I am so excited about the republic day parade. Finally their general public will have the veil of delusions partially lifted.
