Re: Imran Khan' Quote: Pakistan's creation POINTLESS if not an Islamic welfare stat
He does have a point. However, an Islamic welfare state without something that the whole world wants is impossible. Turkey doesn't have black gold but finds its development through aligning with the west and removing age old concepts of organized religion; Arabs use their massive oil wealth and alignment with the US for their welfare states; This leaves only Iran which is living in a sadly deluded world where they fantasize themselves as some heroes fighting the big bad villain called US.
While US is certainly no saint, Iranian mullahs are going overboard with their propaganda which in reality, even Iranians (outside Iran) laugh at.
Pakistan's latest obsession is trying to imitate Iran in "self-reliance" and form a military NATO sort of partnership with China as its lead. You'd hear this common in Pakistani strategic circles and reports where they imagine a China-Pakistan-Iran-Turkey-Russia Alliance against the rest of the world.
