KARACHI: In the wake of protests and threats by India's right-wing parties, the Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) was forced to arrange separate accommodation for the Pakistan women's team inside the Barbati Stadium in Cuttack, after five-star hotels showed reluctance to provide hospitality.

According to The Times of India, "The Pakistani players would have faced trouble while travelling from Bhubaneswar to Cuttack for the matches," said OCA secretary Asirbad Behera. "So we have arranged for their accommodation on the Barabati Stadium premises."
Pakistan reached Cuttack from New Delhi on Sunday to participate in the ICC Women's World Cup. The side, led by Sana Mir, was escorted by a heavy deployment which safely took the visiting side to the stadium.

Several parties in India had issued warnings against Pakistan's participation in India due to cross-border tensions which had forced the Indian board to move their matches from Mumbai.

According to the report, as most hotels in the city refused to host the Pakistani side under immense pressure and threats, the team will be confined to the stadium throughout the tournament.[/B] However, the remaining group B teams playing their matches in Cuttack – Australia, New Zealand and South Africa – will stay in hotels in Bhubaneswar

Right-wing religious parties had warned hoteliers in Bhubaneswar against offering "hospitality to the Pakistani players", following which posh hotels in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack withdrew, forcing the decision to house the players on the stadium premises.
However, the OCA promised the best lodging for the team at the stadium.
"Accommodation for the Pakistan team became a headache," an OCA official told The Times of India before adding that the decision was taken to ensure safety for the visitors.

"We will provide five-star facilities to the players at the Club House in the stadium. The Club House is equipped with a world class gymnasium and swimming pool.

Amid heightened security
According to Indian media reports, around 600 security personnel, including officials, Special Security Battalion and Odisha police were deployed upon the team's arrival to ensure their safety on the way to the stadium.

Director General of Police (DGP) Prakash Mishra visited the stadium to review the security set-up and held discussions with OCA officials about the arrangements, the report revealed. "Matches involving the Pakistan team will be played at Barabati and elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure foolproof security to the players," the DGP was quoted as saying.

Manager urges fans show up at matches
Meanwhile, Pakistan team manager Ayesha Ashar said her side was well-prepared to put up an exciting performance in the World Cup.
"I am grateful for receiving a warm welcome from all the fans," said Ayesha after her arrival in Cuttack. "I will ask Indian fans to come in numbers to watch our matches.

A country considered most unsafe for women has set new standards of hostility. Brimming with hatred and vengeance against Pakistan, it is the women cricket team of Pakistan touring India for ICC Women Cricket World cup to be the victim now.

Latest in the series of nose-diving 'Aman ki Asha', Pakistan's women cricket team has been refused accommodation in any posh hotel amid security threats by 'Hindu Terrorists'. Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) was forced to arrange separate accommodation for the Pakistan women's team inside the Barbati Stadium in Cuttack, after five-star hotels showed reluctance to provide hospitality.

According to Times of India, political parties such as the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and Bajrang Dal has issued warnings against hosting the Pakistani side, has resulted in many posh hotels showing lack of interest in receiving the neighbors. These threats are exclusive for 'Pakistani' players, otherwise all international teams are accommodated in best possible hotels in the city.

"The Pakistani players would have faced trouble while travelling from Bhubaneswar to Cuttack for the matches. So we have arranged for their accommodation on the Barabati Stadium premises," Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary Asirbad Behera said.

"The accommodation of the Pakistan team had turned out to be a headache for us, but finally we have managed to solve the problem," said an OCA official who desires not to be named.

Indian news tycoons like the Deccancronicle and the NDTV have published news quoting Pakistan team manager Ayesha Ashar sayng that ''The arrangements are more like we get in Pakistan"¦ We are happy with the facilities provided to us by the organisers." one can feel the apologistic stance the newsmakers must have turn the statement into. Reliable sources have informed PKKH authorities that "They are staying in the stadium , confined to the ground only, the arrangments in the stadium are 3rd class and there was nobody to welcome them at the air port.''

Other political parties such as Kalinga Sena and Utkal Bharat have also threatened to disrupt the matches involving Pakistan Women. India is becoming the hotbed of 'Hindu Terrorism' which was also acknowledged by Indian home minister Shinde and external minister Salman Khurshid recently. It is ironic to note that these organizations have openly threatened attacks against Pakistani Teams previously, and never have we seen any action against them.

This will be yet another test case for apologists in our ranks, who continue to remain silent on these shameless acts of intimidation and arrogance by Indian counterparts. We will again see selective silence from main stream media, face-veil being wrapped on feminist NGO's, Civil Society and politicians.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to respond to this humiliation and insecurity that these 'daughters of Pakistan' are facing. Any responsible nation would immediately call back its contingent of players and cancel the tour with immediate effect if they are vulnerable to any violence in an International event as such. It would be naive of a sane person to imagine such response from a corrupt government that is hell-bent to risk its women in the name of 'Aman Ki Asha'; a slogan that is nothing but submission to a nation that has never accepted our existence, a nation that is enslaved in the terrorist Ideology of 'Hindutva', a nation that lives in 'Pakistan-Syndrome' haunting not only poor Muslim community, but even its finest of talents and stars for their lineage towards Pakistan.

The issue is not about the standard of accommodation inside the stadium, the issue is India being a secular democracy, targeted discrimination and appeasement of its own terror outfits, when games are all about love, harmony and 'people to people contact'.

We do not mind staying in 2 star, 3 star or 4 star hotels. We are here to play cricket," Sana Mir said, adding they feel Barabati Stadium like any other ground in Pakistan.

There is no real "posh hotel" in that place except a good hotel about 30 kms away. So as per agreement between Pak and India the team is staying in the club and the Paki Team is pretty happy with it.

Pakistani women cricketers relish Odia delicacies in India

CUTTACK: The Pakistan women's cricket team has been bowled over by Odia sweets. The neighbours are reported to have been relishing the mouth-watering chhenapoda, rasagolla, kheersagar, rasaballi and chhenakhiri from day one of their arrival here.

"The Pakistan team was served chhena poda (baked sweet paneer) on the first day of their arrival here on Sunday and they really liked it a lot. They told us they have never eaten anything like it before and some of them also inquired about the ingredients of the dish," said a member of M S Caterers, in charge of serving the team.

"The players prefer less oily and less spicy food. But they have shown their likeness towards Odia sweets. They are trying out new Odia sweet dishes every day," added owner of the catering agency Dilip Sahoo

Pakistan's 23 member squad arrived to a warm reception in the eastern Indian city of Cuttak for the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup, with hundreds of fans and students waiting outside the airport. The women's team was garlanded and greeted warmly by their hosts.

Team manager Ayesha Ashar said that the reception had made the team more determined to play well and give a good game, for the sake of the young people who had greeted them. The team will be playing amidst tight security, with the first match against Australia on Feb 1.

if we would have been as deluded as you people are, we would have claimed that all your sports persons are undercover isi agents who come to India only to convey isi instructions to the terrorists.

instead what we do? if we feel there might be any threat to your players, we shift the whole group elsewhere. we spend millions to make sure your players are safe and can play safely. we provide with the best possible hospitality to your players.

remember... even your hockey league players were recalled by your board... we never asked them to leave. we even payed them full amount as compensation.

and in return what will you do? probably ambush and behead another soldier and plant a few thousand mines on Indian soil.

The club house in cricket stadium has 5 star facility. Travelling from hotel and stadium can be risky.

Their top political leadership and top Army leaders like Musharraf all of them lie with straight faces. The kind of scandals they have been creating against their own leaders tell a lot about how far these 'wardatiyea' can go.

If Pakistani team is so humiliated by Indians and haven't been offered 'Mehmannawazi' then they should show some 'gairait' and leave the tournament.

The kind of money spent and sponsorship earned by ICC make sense how everyone is being adjusted.

They are the same Pakistanis when they will return back if victorious, their media shows will brag day night how they out smarted other teams and lived a luxurious stay right amongst hostile Indians.

I wish this vicious Pakistani propaganda was to be true and we could have shown the Pakistanis their right place they deserve.

Before complaining they should tell their Jihadi army not to ambush our soldiers like cowards. Pakistanis were ranting day and night when IPL kicked their players out, the selfish breed never gave a word on why 26/11 happened in the first place.
