Saya, if your main usage is only for email checking, word processing etc. and nothing very heavy, then try Acer Aspire One... that's an ultra portable one that's about 10" and I've used my friends' extensively and have come to love that...

Anyways guys, I'm also upgrading my PC and am going in for the following configuration -

  • 2.8GHz Core2Quad Processory with 12MB Cache
  • 4GB DDR2 RAM @ 800MHz
  • 500GB Hard Disk (already have 160GB which I will preserve + 160GB External)

The only problem is that I need a good graphics card since I want to play the F-18SH simulator that John was talking about... but I don't know which graphics card I want to buy... also, as far as graphics cards are concerned, I won't be sanctioned too much money (if at all).... so can you guys suggest some budget graphics cards for me???

Good buy Dark Sorrow.
The laptop in itself is a pretty sound machine.
Pros :
1.Great Value for money.
2.Good overall entertainment package.

Cons:
1. Overheating problems have been reported.
2. Battery performance begins to dwindle after a few months.
3. Dell service sucks.

I'm not sure if DDR3 RAM supporting motherboards have arrived in India. Even if they have, DDR3 would be quite expensive at the moment.

DDR3 motherboards seem to be available from Intel & Asus, but they are way too expensive for me at the moment... so I guess I'll have to make do with 4Gigs of DDR2 ... but if I want I can get DDR2 with higher clock speeds...

And, what about the budget graphics cards ???
