As I look around the world and notice that some old "Groupism" have been rendered useless and countries are in process of forming new "Bands of Nation's" under one treaty and they are busy wooing the potential partners so that the Gangsters of Weapon industry can keep on carrying their agenda to saturate the world with conflicts through the think tanks of their respective nation's and political leadership as well. This is only leading to the degradation of societies in the emerging economies of the world therefore the question arises, how can we raise our voices to put an end to this gangsterism of the above mentioned entities?

One of the thing that comes to mind is to revive the union of Non -Alignment as it existed in 1960 and has lost its meaning in today's world. I would like the opinion of forum members on this and explore the possibility if it can be done in 2012.

The Non-Aligned Movement is irrelevant today. You could argue it was largely irrelevant before also, but today it lacks even its basic purpose because the Cold War is over and the bipolar world of the past no longer exists.

IMO even BRICS is a more useful organization than NAM.

These are two different organisation one revolves around non military alliances the second one BRICS is about economic co-operation. I have no problem with the economic co-operation between nations. We have had enough of this stupidity of military alliances where the weak and poor end up as the victims of the so called leaders of rouge states.

Humanity is supposed to bring development instead of the ongoing destruction of state and her citizenry. One of the way would be to pass a ruling in the UNO to ban any or all kinds of military alliances whose sole objective is to spread chaos and anarchy in the less developed parts of the world. What the world in twenty years from now will look like is hard to predict but it is about time that nations should give the expansionist mentality in order to make it a better place for the future generation to come after we are gone. I personally see that it can be only done by disbanding the military alliances and creating economic development association whose number should be only one under the UNO.

There is no need for NAM in the first place.

Good that "static" "movement" has been relegated to the trashbin of history.

NAM was useless even during cold war. India, Yugoslavia were aligned with USSR and there is no denying that.

It's was a useless organization and it still will be. What are you NOT going to align with?
