Our soldiers in british era, were ready to turn tables on british, after Netaji's failed effort.

In fact, brits conducted some secrete survey to know the pulse of our armed powers. After thoroughly analysing every other options, they came to Independence option.

No one will give rat's arse if you follow some sanathana dharma or ahimsa nonsense. It is the fear of our army, that they left this country. Our soldiers showed it in the first pak war.

@saty don't listen to our spring chair analysts. Feel proud of your country, even if we were in bad times.
Just like Congress Propaganda (They gave us freedom) this is another side of propaganda. The only reason British freed their colonies, including India was the geopolitical situation which evolved at the time of WW 2 and which persisted after the end of WW 2. British empire was a threat to American hegemony and the US played a big role in freedom of British colonies.

The Indian Military leadership by-and-large was still loyal to the British.

On home front, the freedom movement had leaked out of the hands of the likes of Gandhis and Nehrus, it had fast taken shape of a completely leaderless movement which was hard to control. This is why the Freedom movement did not loose steam despite the fact that most of the so-called mass leaders were taken as "political prisoners". Contrary to what our historians tell us, the Congress-led "Quit India Movement" had fizzled.

India would have done fine without Nehru. However historical facts need not be distorted. India saw tumultuous events around independence and thereafter. The first twenty years were fairly difficult years.

Bose was definitely a stalwart and would have been much better for India. However destiny took the country in this direction. Gandhi wanted Nehru as the first PM due to his "closeness" with British political establishment. Gandhi knew the power of the British. While they gave independence, their capacity of mischief was known.

India is still taking shape as a country. Political consolidation takes a long time. It is not a switch that suddenly flipped at midnight of August 14, 1947.

It is not true. Nehru and Indira Gandhi were fine. Things started to deteriorate after Indira came under foreign influence in 70s. She imposed emergency and everything went downhill from there.

There is no need to speak against Varun Gandhi.
No Indira was ok. Naheru did a lots of harm to nation for projecting himself as world figure. Rajiv was commission agent and on the payroll of company like SAAB. He had a huge amount in Swiss bank accounts. His wife is the most corrupt lady of the nation. His son is equally corrupt and gone case as well.

I may welcome a military coup in India.
Indian Army Tried to Topple Rajiv Gandhi’s Government, Claims Lt. Gen. PN Hoon

http://www.newindianexpress.com/nat...t.-Gen.-PN-Hoon/2015/10/04/article3062448.ece

In a major revelation, a former army commander claims that a military coup was planned to bring down Rajiv Gandhi’s government in 1987.

According to reports, an army coup was planning to execute an operation led by former Army chief General Krishnaswami Sundarji and then vice chief, Lt. General S F Rodrigues. The revelations were made in Lt General PN Hoon’s book, ‘The Untold Truth’.

It also claims that the coup was planned with few senior politicians support. The book narrates that after Hoon received the message about the coup, he immediately alerted Rajiv Gandhi and his secretary Gopi Arora.

"I also explained to them how dangerous this move could be, not only for the country, but also for our political system," Hoon told Times of India. The book also states that the then President Giani Zail Singh blamed Rajiv of corruption and that he lacked sympathy towards the anti-Sikh riot victims in 1984 during his farewell function. Zail Singh who is believed to be the mastermind behind the plan did not execute it because he believed that the power would shift to the armed forces.

Nevertheless, many army veterans disagreed to Hoon’s claim, where Air Marshal Randhir Singh said that there has never been a military coup in India.

IS Pig in the flag is real!, where you got it?

BTW Ahimsa is fake britshit creation, original word is 'HIMSA' (in Sanskrit) means Violence and prefix 'A' means 'Non' like in English Non-Violence....... A-Himsa,A-Dharma etc.
Still many idiots (even hindus) thinks 'Ahimsa' is a principal/philosophy of Hinduism and what not.

I do not agree. Indira lost her way in 1973-74. As I said before, India has seen very tumultuous times. There was no guarantee India would survive as a nation. In fact West was quite confident that India will break up within 50 years.

I don't look at Nehru as my hero. But there were valid reasons for suspecting the Military leadership of 1950s, they were all trained by the British, and there was a good reason for showing those "generals" their real place. Try to look at the military of 1947s from the eyes of the people who fought for freedom, those who lost their kith and kins to the bullets fired by the "Indian Army", you will understand what am I talking about.

Let us not compare with those other countries which gained independence after WW2, India was and is the second most populous country in the world, and we survive as a single entity under one flag not because of the military, but because the people of India and their representatives made good decisions.
General Cariappa was the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Command during the Jammu and Kashmir operations. General Roy Butcher, who was then the Commander-in-Chief, had tried his best to tie General Cariappa's hands in 1948 by not approving plans to evict Pakistani 'raiders' from some sensitive areas. General Cariappa, as GOC-in-C, quietly decided to clear the Pakistani raiders from Jammu - Naushera axis. He also directed the operations for recapture of Zoji la Drass and Kargil.

He was then fighting on two fronts, the Army Headquarters led by General Roy Butcher and the Pakistani Army led by General Messervy.

Only recently, British records of that period have been declassified. Not many know that General Roy Butcher was more loyal to the King of England than the Government of India. He used to send messages to the British Government through the British High Commissioner over the head of the Defence Minister. He also advised the Indian Cabinet against launching the operation against the Nizam's forces in Hyderabad.

He is reported to have said: "As your C-in-C, I ask you not to start the operations." And he offered his resignation if his advice was not heeded. There was a general silence while a distressed and worried Jawaharlal Nehru looked around. Sardar Patel, who was the Home Minister, remarked: "You may resign, General Bucher, but the police action will start tomorrow."

An angry Bucher stormed out of the meeting. All these indicated the importance for the Indian Army to have an Indian Army Chief. General Cariappa as Commander-in-Chief turned the imperial army into a national army. He raised the Brigade of Guards and the Parachute Regiments on an all-India caste composition and directed the raising of the National Cadet Corps and the Territorial Army.

General Cariappa was keen that Army Officers, on retirement, should have a say in the affairs of the nation. He did contest the elections in Bombay, but lost. I last saw General Cariappa in 1986 when the rank of Field Marshal was conferred on him. When the order was read in the Rashtrapati Bhavan before President Zail Singh handed over the baton, considering his age, he was offered a chair to sit down, but he preferred to stand-ramrod straight.

Not many remember that Field Marshal Ayub Khan served under General Cariappa in the British Indian Army. When his son Flt. Lt. K. C. "Nanda" Cariappa (who later rose to the rank of an Air Marshal) was taken prisoner after his Hunter aircraft was shot down during the 1965 war, Field Marshal Ayub Khan contacted General Cariappa in Mercara and offered to release his son.

The reply of General Cariappa was: "He is my son no longer... He is the child of this country, a soldier fighting for his motherland like a true patriot. My many thanks for your kind gesture, but I request you to release all or release none. Give him no special treatment."

A great deal of credit goes to Field Marshal Cariappa to have made the Indian Army truly Indian.

I can't rant about freedom movement, friend. They were all zombies. And I am tired. Let's play some other time.

General Kariappa is one of the two officers I respect in the entire Indian army since 1947.

So listen to what this great man had to say:

General K. M. Kariappa: "I would urge public opinion in our country (India) to manifest itself resolutely to protest strongly against any form of forcing Hindi as a national language".

Ahimsa is a characteristic of an idiot who is out of touch with reality and has fooled himself with his special snowflake notion of humans being gods compared to other animals because they have the ability to "rise above their own instincts" frankly that's no better than degenerate Marxist theory its even worse if its a state policy so how can it be a desirable quality? Down Syndrome is not a desirable quality now is it?

Why All Humans Need to Eat Meat for Health

With veganism trending, many people are convincing themselves that plant-based foods can suffice when it comes to daily nutritional needs, removing all traces of meat from their diets.Unfortunately, these people may be experiencing vitamin deficiencies and suffering decreased brain volume, fatigue, and confusion.

The Myths About Eating Meat
One of the greatest and most harmful nutrition myths is that meat doesn’t belong in a healthy diet. Meat consumption is blamed for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heart disease, and obesity. But if you want to point fingers at the culprit behind these health issues, point at sugar. Blame the overconsumption of carbohydrates like grains and potatoes that break down into sugar in the body.1

For more than two million years we were primarily meat eaters. Only in the last 10,000 years did the human diet shift, with the cultivation of grains and legumes. But are we more suited to this diet lower in meat? In the last 10,000 years we’ve gotten smaller in stature and brain size. With a heavily grain- and sugar-based diet, we are suffering increased rates of obesity, cancer, diabetes, and osteoporosis. We’re also experiencing alarming incidence of skin problems, heart disease, and inflammation of all kinds.2

I have to politely disagree with the anti-meat argument. Our genes were developed before the agricultural revolution, when we were not only meat eaters, but enthusiastic ones at that. On top of that, the human genome has changed less than 0.02% in the last 40,000 years. Our bodies were genetically programed for optimal functioning on a diet including meat, and that programming has not changed.

There’s plenty of information circulating about why we shouldn’t eat meat. Here are some reasons why we should:

We Were Created That Way
By nature, humans are meat eaters, and our bodies are designed for it. We have incisors for tearing meat, and molars for grinding it. If we were meant to subsist on vegetables alone, our digestive system would be similar to that of the cow, with four stomachs and the ability to ferment cellulose in order to break down plant material.

The degenerative health conditions that are prevalent now weren’t around when the cavemen were living off meat, vegetables, fish, nuts, seeds, and fruits. In hunter/gatherer societies, 45-65% of energy requirements were derived from animal sources, and heart disease, obesity and type 2 diabetes - the diseases that plague society today - were not a problem.3 With the introduction of grains and processed foods, these diseases reared their ugly heads at alarming rates.4

Stable Blood Sugar
Meat helps keep blood sugar levels stable due to its fat and high protein content. Steady blood sugar is critical in preventing type 2 diabetes, as well as other chronic diseases. It also helps keep energy levels steady and creates a feeling of satiety between meals, reducing cravings for unhealthy foods.5 With stable blood sugar, you’re less likely to drool for fattening snacks and sweets between meals. Battle sugar cravings by eating more meat.6

Muscle Growth
You can work yourself to the bone trying to gain muscle or bulk up, but if you don’t nourish your body appropriately, you might as well toss your training schedule and start long distance running. You have to fuel your body with the right nutrients to achieve sufficient muscle repair and recovery to make gains.

You can take protein supplements, but the best source of protein is meat. Meat also contains vitamins and minerals that aid in muscle growth like zinc, which assists in muscle repair, and iron, which boosts energy levels and combats fatigue. Meat also contains creatine, a nitrogen-containing compound that improves protein synthesis and provides muscles with energy, encouraging muscle gain.

If meat’s positive - strike that, crucial - role in muscle growth isn’t enough, meat also helps burn fat. Meat has a high thermogenic effect because of its protein content, so that approximately thirty percent of its calories are burned off during digestion alone. Digesting carbohydrates produces only a six to eight percent increase in energy expenditure, while digesting the protein in meat typically produces a whopping 25 to 40 percent increase.7

Neurotransmitter Health
People who don’t eat meat are especially vulnerable to neurotransmitter imbalances because of the absence of meat protein, which provides all of the essential amino acids human bodies need. Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that regulate many of our functions, including physical, cognitive, and mental performance, as well as our sleep cycle, weight, and emotional states. Meat protein provides all of the essential amino acids human bodies need.People who don’t eat meat are especially vulnerable to neurotransmitter imbalances, which can result in problems like depression, anxiety, and hyperactivity.

According to research conducted at the University of Graz, vegetarians are two to three times more likely than meat eaters to suffer from depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and somatoform disorders and syndromes.8 We rely on prescribed medication to cure some of these conditions, when the answer may be as simple as eating a juicy hamburger or tender chicken breast.

Long-Lasting Energy
Everyone has experienced that post-meal slump when caffeine is the only thing that can keep one’s head off a pillow. Simple carbs are broken down into sugar that our body burns through quickly, causing us to crash. Conversely, our bodies utilize the protein in meats for sustained, long-lasting energy.

Another critical component of feeling energized is the stimulation of orexin cells in the brain. The stimulation of orexin cells is directly linked to energy expenditure and wakefulness.Scientists at the University of Cambridge discovered that amino acids stimulate orexin cells more than any other nutrients do. Thus, consuming meat protein leads to burning more calories and more energy. Reduced activity in orexin cells has been linked to both weight gain and narcolepsy.9

In addition, meat is one of the best sources of iron. Iron deficits put you at risk for anemia andlow energy, which is why anemia is a chronic problem for vegetarians. Pair meat with vegetables boasting a low glycemic index, and you’ll be feeling like the energizer bunny all day long.

Essential Nutrients
There are many nutrients in meat that are critical to overall health. While there are many sources of protein, meat is a great source of complete protein, containing all the amino acidsour bodies needs, including the ones our bodies can’t produce.

All B vitamins are found in greater concentration in meats than in plant sources, and vitamin B-12 can only be found in animal sources. The B vitamins are critical to health, especially mental health. Deficits in these vitamins can cause confusion, impaired senses, aggression, insomnia, weakness, dementia, and peripheral neuropathy.

The Bottom Line
The last reason to eat meat? It tastes pretty damn good. Steak off the grill, roasted chicken, tender pot roasts, need I say more? For most of us, a meal is not a meal without a delicious cut of meat at the center of it. We love meat, and meat loves us back with a host of critical health benefits. So be true to your human nature and to your taste buds. Don’t cut meat out of your life. It has way too much to offer.
