its sad but its true. cheating and passing by bribing etc in exams is not uncommon in up and bihar.
my friends relative passed his gradution from bihar university by bribing. it also happens in delhi universities.

Other than reluctance of British media and public to come out of colonial mindset, are there any other reasons for BBC to continue such biased reporting?

Since BBC is a state broadcaster we can safely assume they are forwarding their government's agenda.

Upto year 2010 almost all media outlets were reporting similar articles pertaining to india. Now except BBC all other media outlets report such articles only when there is a incident or event in india, Looks like BBC does not even require a reason to publish such articles. They just do it as if they are fulfilling a quota of writing such articles about india.

    Indeed,

But if you think that this kind of stuffs only happens in the North, then you are highly mistaken.

Dilopa mills are rampant all over the South. These fake certificate mills specialize in manufacturing fake engineering and management certificates for as low as 1 lakh.

I know western media is quite snarky about India but what they are saying is 100% true.

we generally make a joke, even basic software of Microsoft, Hotmail, was developed by Sabir Bhatia, an Indian professional, not even single software of Microsoft might have been developed by an American born person, all immigrants, while Mr Bill Gates is the richest man of world. and then we read this type of news

once i was discussing with a Polish girlfriend of my Indian friend in Perth and she was saying, over 95% phd holders of even German firms are immigrants, all polish/indians/chinese/immigrants in their labs. you only have labors, office workers and management teams in Western firms, while labs are almost totally filled with immigrants, mainly Indians. ..... even if you see few locals in their professional teams, most of them aren't competent enough to deliver projects without help of immigrant professionals

those who are using technologies in the western nations, aren't the same people who developed it........

This has nothing to do with the issue.Usually most western firms are packed with the cream of all immigrants.Your average Indian is not an IITian.

The issue is about the issues faced by common man and the miserable education system of India.

Truly after reading some comments here ,i have reached to a conclusion that most of my countrymen are delusional.

Education system in India is horrendously bad. This has been proven beyond doubt.

Using fraudulent means to pass exams is so prevalent that even the elite institutions have not been spared. Remember how many AIIMS and IIM exams were cancelled due to paper leak ??

Cheating in exam hall is widespread in the North, where as making fraud degree certificates is the instrument of choice in the South.Last i heard that the US embassy had started an anti fraud Unit so as to prevent Indian students from going to the US using fraud degrees.

Your comments about Microsoft are delusional......you seem to have a habit of posting with very loose facts and conjecture.
Sure there are quite a few immigrants from all over, but that doesnt mean that they arent fantastic people locally.

Anyway the issue here is that Indian universities are cranking out engineers like plastic water bottles coming out of an assembly line, and most of them are unemployable.....so much so that even leading Indian companies wont hire or even look at them.

PS: My neighbour who I grew up with in Malaysia, graduated with a 3rd grade in his GCE "O" levels. 3rd grade means you barely passed and dont even qualify to attend A levels. His parents paid about $30K Malaysian ringgit 40 years ago to get him admission into pre-Med program in Manipal Kasturba Medical College and today he is a practicing doctor back in Malaysia.

A guy like that would not even qualify for a nursing or pharmacy program in the US system. He would never have seen the inside of a medical school....even if his parents were willing to make million dollar donation to the school.

Now you see why I get nervous when I go to a hospital here and get assigned an Indian trained doctor. Some may be excellent doctors and some may be like my neighbour. Problem is you dont know which is which.

There are two separate issues here:

    1. Lots of Indian engineers are indeed suspect. This is a problem in both "North" and "South". In the "North" there is rampant copying and cheating, and paper leaks etc. etc. In the "South" we have several nondescript useless colleges in tier-2 and tier-3 towns which churn out pathetic "engineers".

    2. This does not take away from the fact that Britshits are racist morons. As someone above pointed out, normally such news appears when a noteworthy incident takes place. But the Britshits churn out shit like this on a regular basis, just constantly looking for some shit and couching it in polite language.

So yeah, lot of Indian engineers are poor quality, but there are millions of great ones too. I am not talking about just the IITs. There are hundreds of fairly good engineering colleges which produce good and decent engineers, in the millions. Bangalore alone has 50 engineering colleges, and there are at least 25 which are of fairly good standard (RV, BMS, PES, MVIT, MSRIT, JSS, BIT, etc.), and at least 10 which are of "decent" standards. These "fairly good colleges" churn out 8000 reasonably high quality engineers per year - and this is in just one city.

The number of "good engineers" that India churns out per year is 10 times the overall number of engineers that the Britshits churn out from their tiny dreary little island. This is a fact. The massive IT outsourcing boom (not just services, but also product companies and hardcore technical stuff, tech startups, etc.) is fueled by people with real talent, not some third-rate morons who have cheated their way through some 3rd rung college.

The likes of IBM, Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Oracle, Accenture, Infosys, Airbus, Honeywell, Morgan Stanley, Fidelity, McKinsey, GE, etc. etc. etc. (the list is endless) are not fools. All these companies have massive operations in India, focusing on everything from product development to testing and service delivery. We've got everything covered. This is a fact, whether the Britshits like it or not.

Not denying that there is a certain aspect of fraud in the education system.

Steps have being taken by the government to control such problems. Departments are constantly catching these activities and unfortunately these guys keep popping up.

Having said that situation was much worse than now 15 years earlier. Inspite of which india's service sector grew a lot. There are enough safeguards in the private sector to ensure bad crop of these engineers do not get selected. Even if they end up getting the job they would not last more than 6 months.

There was a time when I used to reject people in interviews simply because "Hyd" is mentioned in the resume.

they love demeaning us and we give then the opportunity to do so.

Just because there is no cheating happening in some colleges does not mean they are any better. In international standard, even the IIT's don't match up,leave alone an ordinary Indian college. Most of the colleges do not have good quality faculty or staff and the education standard is so bad that the graduates have to be comprehensibly trained by the prospective recruiters.

London is the world's economic capital and despite being a tiny dreary island they have a bigger economy than us.Our country has more people than the combined population of North America and Europe but the total productivity is lower than England. So much so for an IT hub.

On the top of that this singular focus on IT and Software is harming and not benefiting the country.

BBC and west are idiots who have beams in their eyes. Look up this.

Cheating on Exams and Quizzes | LearnDAT (Learning Design and Technology)

This page is about a USA U. @mattster may note.

    Google for cheating in exams.

In USA there are "universities" which are little better than a post office address, and offer degrees right upto PhD. They prepare your thesis and "evaluate" it. Of course at a price. @mattster may note and explain.

BBC is yet to explain why IT majors have have their development offices in India. Also how and why Indian students are toppers in UK and other foreign Us.
