    HMS Astute class incident time-line

    December 2007

    HMS Astute breaks down with faulty oil pump.

    April 2009

    Workers are evacuated after a fire breaks out in the conning tower of HMS Astute

    May 2009

    Reports of problems with vessel's propulsion system which engineers were unable to rectify because of the fire

    May 2010

    Two week sea trial halted after one days following an electrical fire

    August 2010

    A technical fault with the anchor on HMS Astute forces it to return to port during another sea trial.


    October 2010

    HMS Astute runs aground on a shingle bank off the Isle of Skye before being towed free.

    An inquiry was launched into how it happened. Suggestions that out of date charts were used to navigate.

    November 2010

    Reports emerge that HMS Astute was damaged by the tug sent to rescue it after it crashed into it causing tens of millions in damages to the diving plane.

    Commander Andy Coles sacked for running Astute aground.

    December 2010

    Sewage and weapons support systems break down on the first day of a subsequent sea trial.

    The launch ceremony of HMS Ambush takes place without being able to move it due to a fault in the machinery needed to lift the submarine.

    Oh Gee, let me rehash this wound... Astute can't make 20 knots and now HMS Ambush has a power failure and towed back to port in shame.

    Someone please teach these hooligans how to build a submarine

    but its said these submarines can hear for distances as long as half the world !

    is it so advanced?

    A Frenchman gloating over the misfortune of a Royal Navy vessel. Really that show no class, Armand2REP. But Nelson's victory still stings, perhaps.
