Hindu Temple in Kitchener, Ontario, vandalized

A Hindu temple in Kitchener was vandalized on Sunday night, a day after someone set a mosque on fire in Peterborough, also in Ontario. Five stones were thrown through two window panes at the rear entrance of the Ram Dham Hindu Temple at about 11:15 p.m. However, no one inside the temple was injured.

Police in Kitchener are investigating but haven’t decided whether this is a hate crime as they wait to identify a suspect to learn about their motive.

The temple’s spiritual leader, Swami Chaitanya Jyoti, told the CBC that she was attending a vigil at Kitchener City Hall, paying tribute to those killed in the Paris terrorist attacks at the time.
