LOS ANGELES: Former US secretary of state Hillary Clinton has hailed China's President Xi Jinping as "pragmatic," saying he was more of a politician than his predecessor.

In an address to a think tank in Los Angeles yesterday she said Xi, who took office last November, should ensure that there is "no daylight" between the ruling Communist Party and China's vast military.

Na...its used by Obama in his speech..means kinda like "No disconnect"

Like saying "Xi has to make sure that there is NO DISCONNECT between ruling Communist Party and China's vast military. meaning, Xi should reign in the PLA else US will do the needful.

Or

In plain terms it could also be interprted as there is "no day light" [a real day light] between Party and PLA.. [ A truth]

Ya know...a womans vocabulary is hard to get..
