It is the Schedule Castes and Scheduled Tribes who have suffered the awful caste system of Hinduism.

    The Constitution recognises this.

There are many SCs who have rightfully, in their wisdom, renounced this abhorrent system and stigma, by embracing religions that claim that all men are born equal, namely Christianity and Islam. And they have benefitted by this change in religion.

Therefore, wanting to benefit from the SC quota would be blasphemous to the adopted religion since it does not recognise or endorses such inequality of man. Further, it would put the genuine SCs at a loss since the quota would go over the sanctioned percentage and thus become selective.

One cannot have one's cake and eat it too.
