Superfast Primetime Ultimate Nation: The Relentless Invention of Modern India..
Milind sitting on the left thought Akhilesh yadav would win UP elections, he used to call akhilesh Mr.clean.

in this whole discussion only one point i 100% agree is that India needs larger number of Foreign corps, India's ambitions do not match the number of foreign service cadre...

rest is all as usual foreigner's understanding of things in their own perspective, and they want modi to solve decades of legacy issues in 3 years time.

That should be no surprise at all; given that these are foreign think tanks seeking to understand India (an other nations) in their own way or alternatively build a narrative that suits their sponsors.

To obtain a uniquely Indian perspective, one may need to visit Indian Think Tanks like:
Vivekananda International Foundation http://www.vifindia.org/
or
Gateway House http://www.gatewayhouse.in/

But don't expect these Think Tanks to be as evolved as Carnegie or Brookings. Video/Audio recordings of their events and sessions barely make it to their websites......if at all!

Think tanks are almost like lobbyists...just much more sophisticated. They promote a certain point of view which suit their financiers and other vested interests. But, Think tanks can provide us great insights if we know how to interpret their utterings.
Western think tank do have hard time understanding Indian mindset and therefore they can not accurately gauze the Indian situation.

Here's a discussion I found very informative; an event hosted by CSIS titled
U.S.-India Defense and Security Cooperation: Promise and Momentum
The Indian side was represented by a Diplomat (Ambassador) and two military experts. What I found interesting though was how clearly and boldly the Indian side expressed their expectation of the US in a Public Forum; clarity and boldness being two aspects I perceived lacking amongst most Indian commenters and 'experts thus far.

On June 21, The India Project and the Center for Middle East Policy at Brookings hosted an event, with one panel each focused on India’s relationship with the United States and Israel.

India in US:

Not sure if the Indian ambassador to the US feels serious/aggressive enough. We really do need a heavyweight in that position.

India in Israel:

Gadhanand Dhume as usual spouts rubbish, but interesting perspective from the Israel side.

American analyst on how CCP portrays india internally within the country.

Exactly my thesis on china .
China has many contradictions regarding India. The main goal of CCP are
1. Contain India by supporting Pak , Bangladesh , srilanka.
2. Show India as uncivilized poor , raping backward creatures so that Chinese can be grateful to CCP for saving them from similar fate and making them stronger then USA .
3. At the very same time leverage indias growth to access the greatest emerging market in the world.
4. Seek Indian cooperation to change global financial control of west.
5. Stop India from becoming a full fledged American ally i.e. like UK , israle or Japan.
Treaty bound to fight together against china.

Here is the famous exchange where the Porki ambassador gets laughed at.

I don't know where they pick up these illiterate clowns, but the Pak Ambassador to US Aizaz Chaudhry is one excitable little dehati aurat. You can see here Zalmay Khalilzad and Manish Tiwari (can't stand the guy, but he serves his purpose here) calmly light a fire under his mendacious butt.

Q and A:

The funny bit is at 30 minutes+ in this Q&A, when Zalmay just doesn't care anymore and lets him have it, as does the audience.

Thanks for the share, I was looking for them.
My comments:
Idiot Chowdary is shit faced as and when Amb. Khalilzad is mentioning Pakistan's role in supporting the various Terror outfits.
His opening remarks (Pakistan was one of three states that recognised the Talibastard regime in Afghanistan) itself was a punch in the gut for the Pakjabi Jehadi in plain clothes.
I really enjoyed how well the former US envoy to Afghanistan conveyed Pak duplicity, it was like a Khukri covered with Images of Goat Vaginas rapidly taking aim at the unsuspecting Goat Fucker.
There is a weird edit at 17:50 during Amb. Khalilzad's opening remarks though.
Chowdary talked from the same old ISI book of "101 ways to talk out of your ass" and repeated the same old "Victims of Terror", "Afghan Refugee-Bad" and "Look inward Afghanistan" BS.
Manish Tewari was also on point and gave a bipartisan remark. It was nice to see an Indian on the panel who was actually in tune with our national interest.
But he was not forthcoming in calling out the BS peddled by Chowdary.
Ashley Tellis was a good listen.
But another edit at 47:49 threw me off.

Because they have failed to understand the India it's culture and ideology like India has not exploited enough to study about China. Both countries are just fighting short term profit conflicts.

Similarly they are also confused with Russia as they want to have close cooperation with Russian federation and same time become a competitor in technological sectors to them.

There is no specific policy. The other reason for that is China has very recently became an economic giant which is both advantage and also disadvantage. Had they gradually built their economy these problems would have not arose. Their think tank is confused.

It's the Communist party which actually doesn't want to show India into a good light.

If CCP accepts that India is a great civilization which has accepted democratic ethos then how can they ask Chinese to keep following emperor style autocracy.??

Also if they accept that India is rapidly growing and will challenge china in economy , technology everything then what is the logic of all of mao mayhem of great leap and cultural revolution. China could have grown democratically too?? CCP killed millions of chinese it has to make some sense .

Thus India have to be backward in their view .

One shouldn't be blaming it on others. Indians themselves don't show their country and speak better of India when they are outside. Why would any one care?

Who is stopping India to do exactly what China does?

And who is waiting for their approval whether India is growing or not.

Indians have failed to present their country. Showing bharatnatyam, and playing table and sarodh is not the only Indian culture.

Why it takes some one from UK to make a documentary on Buddha? Why can't Indians promote it? Who has stopped Karan Johar or Rajnikanth to make a sci fic Ramayana or movie on martial arts from Kerela?

Most of the people abroad have no idea Hinduism is. Can you believe this?

See, you have to introspect!

You are missing the point no matter what India does or doesn't . CCP is bound to brainwash Chinese public against the success of both Indian civilization and Indian democracy.

That is what we need to understand to know our enemy better. That is also why a democratic alliance rattles them.

All India needs to do is call chinas bluff. Be much more aggressive and provoke Chinese for war. Even a tactical defeat for CCP would undo all their propaganda for decades to come.
