Now british colonial masters have woken up and saying its occupied territory

LONDON: A motion was passed in the British Parliament condemning Islamabad's announcement+ declaring Gilgit-Baltistan as its fifth frontier+ , saying the region is a legal and constitutional part of Jammu & Kashmir illegally occupied by Pakistan since 1947.

The motion which was tabled on March 23 and sponsored by Conservative Party leader Bob Blackman, stated that Pakistan, by making such an announcement, is implying its attempt to annex the already disputed area.

"Gilgit-Baltistan is a legal and constitutional part of the state of Jammu & Kashmir, India, which is illegally occupied by Pakistan since 1947, and where people are denied their fundamental rights including the right of freedom of expression," the motion read.

It was further noted that the attempts to change the demography of the region was in violation of State Subject Ordinance and the 'forced and illegal construction' of theChina-Pakistan Economic Corridor+ (CPEC) further aggravated and interfered with the disputed territory .
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign affairs ministry has said that Beijing was ready to work with Islamabad to take forward the CPEC to benefit the people of both countries.

The economic corridor is a $51.5 billion project that aims to connect Kashgar, in China's western province of Xinjiang, with the port of Gwadar+in the Pakistani province of Balochistan.

So, should we term this move as Modi governments diplomatic success.

Since Pakistan is moving into China's umbrella, the western powers will now favor India. The same thing has happened before with India moving into USSRs umbrella and the western powers supporting Pakistan..

Now where this can be considered as success ...The Uk parliment is raising this issue because they would have been told by the american s who are more worried about CPEC than India ...

What worken up? UK is the same country who was responsible for creation of Pakistan.
PS, doesn't make any difference. UK isn't a relevant country in International Politics anymore.

Because they don't want to upset India which the Queer recently declared as one of the two imp Nations for British govt

The other is China.

But what is needed that this sort of condemnation should come from EU. They can bring Pakis to their knees by Economic sanctions.

This is nothing but a formal recitation of legal status of Kashmir as seen by the UN. The Brits have to say things like this for the sake of maintaining appearances of being "impartial". If Indians want to understand Brits they should follow the dictum of watching what they do and not what they say.

UK can sanction?

:hehe::hehe:
No, but they may warn other nations from using it for fear of sanctions. Probably the US of A will as the CPEC and a Chinese base at Gwadar would pose a significant threat to US interests in the Gulf and IOR.

But the million dollar question is: who the heck is gonna use the CPEC? The virgin Islands?

It is intriguing why India is not making a hue and cry about the CPEC as it runs through illegally occupied Indian territory. We are in silent mode.

True. We are in a silent mode except for one or two very mild statements from FO. It's as if like a calm before storm. With Ajit Doval's recent visits to certain countries and Mr Modi's temperment, I think there is something brewing....
