He answered very wisely and hitting the point when tried to catch about dispute with Government. He said it is for nation to decide what they want. Civil Administration is nothing but what people want. If you say Govt is having wrong priority then it is implied that citizens have goof up themselves. He also made clear that Army has no ambitions or role in deciding what policy nation should follow defensive/offensive. It is for people to decide when they vote.

Let us make it clear that citizens have no right to shout on Govt when citizens themselves don't care about what security agenda certain party has in its manifesto, if at all it is there.

He spoke very well and delivered the message what most of India
thinks and believes about Pakis

All the Govt's appeasement policies towards Pakistan have fallen flat
and this is what he exactly conveyed in his address

I don't think so.

I was skeptical when I started the video link thinking that it will be a typical tatoo speech.

I was pleasantly surprised.

Not once did he read out of a prepared speech.

He spoke from the heart and there was sure much conviction.

Well done, Bikram bete.

Well done!

Proud of you!

He's trying to break from the VK Singh legacy and making a point that army swears allegiance to its political masters and civilian bureaucrats.
I was not convinced by this speech, he has not touched core issues affecting the army corruption, delays in procuring critical weapon system and on Chinese question he dodged it.

On the Chinese question, he brought it out as best as it can be said.

We build capabilities and it need not be to wage war alone, and instead to act as a deterrent to those who wish to wage war.

He was invited to talk on Army's role in Nation Building, not on corruption. He said Army belongs to and is loyal to citizens of this nation. Civil administration is nothing but people's choice. No need to twist his words to potray that he is loyal to political masters.
