Citing reports of prominence of US’s Ford Foundation funded NGOs in Prime Minister-led Planning Commission and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi-led NAC, BJP on Monday sought reply from ruling party’s leadership who is taking decisions on allocation of funds for UPA Government’s schemes.
Addressing a Press conference, BJP spokesperson Nirmala Sitaraman said, “A Press coverage is up today about Ford Foundation fund receiving NGOs occupying very important positions in the Planning Commission and also in the National Advisory Council (NAC) of Sonia Gandhi. The amount received by these NGOs is not small.
“We certainly would want to get an answer from the Government of India, Planning Commission and also from the NAC whose chief is the Congress president herself as to who actually is framing policies and who actually is deciding on what quantum of fund should be given for the one or the other programme. If the fund receiving NGOs particularly from the Ford Foundation are seated in these powerful places, we would like to expect a reply because it is the time when the Congress party is doing everything to cover up their misdeeds,” she added.

Can you please also outline which all the policy decisions is BJP questioning? Did BJP come to know the funding details only recently, was it ever raised in Parliament during Question Hour? Did BJP not get a chance to study these policy decisions and recomendations at Select Committee level or during parliamentary debate?

Essentially, why is BJP not being specific wrt policy decisions which it is trying to question?

BJP was a big flop as an opposition party. They did not have any strategy to counter any of the UPA moves.

If you don't have anything substantive to provide an insight, what's the need of name-calling, are you here just for trolling?

I thought this would be relevant here.
India, Nepal and Sri Lanka / Regions / Ford Foundation
