In actuality there are not so much hindus/sikhs in A-stan. I think they are just 1%, living mainly in Kabul.

Taliban regime did a lot of them to seek other place to live.

Hinduism has declined in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. Afghanistan was part of multiple Indian kingdoms and empires throughout history. Buddhism also flourished in Afghanistan at one point.

There was a time when Hinduism was spread all over Asia from Afghanistan to Thailand ,King Asoka time were most prosperous time for Hindu as a religion till the time he diverted to Buddhism. Advent of Islamic incursion into India may caused some setbacks for Hinduism ,but it could not destroy it .
