police termed this as racist attack
Well, if it's a race related crime, it has nothing to do with religion, right ?
All we know is that the attacker was pretty low on GK, and/or he has psychiatric problems.

RIP

On CNN, they are saying Sikhs worship cows and Sikhs were born out of Hindus to fight Muslims!:noidea:
Sikhs didn't drop from Mars 500 years ago on earth. They were basically Hindus but different indeed. It's the worlds 5th largest organized religion and compatible with all the religions specially Hindus.

SGPC who have billion of $$$$$$$$ in their kitty , why not create awareness in american media to educate goras
SGPC is corrupted and derailed from the Panth. They would rather do bloody fights with swords inside Golden Temple for Gaddis(Gurudwara political seats) but would not create awareness among others. This attitude is also responsible for people not knowing much about Sikhism.

Why are members here expecting GoI to say something? It is a US issue!
So who else should raise this concern? Islamic thekedar like Pakistan? Should Pakistan complain why the white terrorist attacked Sikhs and not Muslims?

Yeah, I agree that's true, and there is a good chance this crime is related to that issue. What I'm saying though, is that the attacker could have been a psycho or a "White Supremacist" nut case etc. Let's wait for a statement as to what his intent was.

News from The Associated Press
OAK CREEK, Wis. (AP) -- At least six people were killed Sunday when a gunman opened fire at a Sikh temple near Milwaukee, and the suspected shooter later died in an exchange of gunfire with police, authorities said.

Police were called to the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin in the suburb of Oak Creek, where witnesses said several dozen people were gathering for a service. Authorities found four people dead inside the temple and two outside, Greenfield Police Chief Bradley Wentlandt said.

Sunny Singh, 21, of Milwaukee, said a friend pulled into the temple's parking lot, heard shots and saw two people fall down. The friend then saw the shooter reload his weapons and head to the temple's entrance, Singh said.

The first police officer to arrive at the temple engaged in gunfire outside the building with a man police believe was the shooter, Wentlandt said. The suspect was killed, he said.

Tactical units went through the temple, and authorities do not believe a second shooter was involved, Wentlandt said.

It's unclear how many others were wounded. Wentlandt said he had been told the officer who exchanged gunfire with the suspect and another person had been taken to hospitals. He said the officer was shot multiple times and is in surgery and is expected to survive.

The spokeswoman for the area trauma center said three victims were being treated there, including one who was in surgery.

Jatin Der Mangat, 38, of Racine, the nephew of the temple's president, Satwant Singh Kaleka, said his uncle was one of those shot, but he didn't know how serious his injuries were. He was among those waiting for news when police announced the deaths.

"It was like the heart just sat down," he said. "This shouldn't happen anywhere."

Sukhwindar Nagr, also of Racine, said he called his brother-in-law's phone and a priest at the temple answered and told him that his brother-in-law had been shot, along with three priests. The priest also said women and children were hiding in closets in the temple, Nagr said.

Wentlandt did not identify the suspect or say what might have motivated the shootings.

First thing first....Sikhs should start educating whites the difference between ----- Sikhs and Osama/Taliban/Al-Qaida!

The diffentiating factor could be what CNN said (Sikh orgs. should make a note) ------- Sikhs are Born out of Hindus to Fight Muslims! If this point gets across the whites, I believe there will be a significant improvement.....Secdly, Sikhs should avoid being found with pakis and their protests ---- Dal Khalasa type orgs. which display solidarity with pakis and ISI create more confusion among Sikhs than whites!

I have seen how much concern GoI has for it's own citizens in India. Sikhs 84 = no justice. Kashmiri Pandits = no justice. WTF is GoI going to do, apart from say a few empty words just for the sake of it.

@guybranum

Hey CNN, maybe get someone who is Sikh to explain what Sikhism is.

@SulaymanF CNN is asking a Sikh leader to explain and tell us more about his religion. How come they never did that for Muslims?

Even if this was a psycho attack, its a BIG concern in the gun totting American culture. It seems like too many psycho are walking on US streets who could purchase massive arms/ammunition on internet. The recent example is "James Holmes Batman Massacre"

You can't write off deaths of innocents because the attackers were psycho. A related fact is that number of prisoners in US in increasing day by day and highest in the world.

Incarceration in the United States

Incarceration in the United States is one of the main forms of punishment and/or rehabilitation for the commission of felony and other offenses. The United States has the highest documented incarceration rate in the world. At year-end 2009 it was 743 adults incarcerated per 100,000 population.[4][7][8][9][10]

According to the U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) 2,266,800 adults were incarcerated in U.S. federal and state prisons, and county jails at year-end 2010 — about 0.7% of adults in the U.S. resident population. [7] Additionally, 4,933,667 adults at year-end 2009 were on probation or on parole.[4] In total, 7,225,800 adults were under correctional supervision (probation, parole, jail, or prison) in 2009 — about 3.1% of adults in the U.S. resident population.[3][4][11
