This was also a touchy subject in Finland with 102/90 vote showed. It is decisions like these that are needed if you want your society to progress. It will be 50 years before India can vote on this and 100 years before Russia. Unfortunately.
Your post proves you are clueless about progress.

Please do not peddle social decadence as "progress."

10 Countries That Completely Hate Gay People - Listverse

India is one of most homophobic countries in the world. One more list which shows the level of Indian society. Things might not be so dark after all, a lot of members posting to this thread showed that maybe the change is coming.

True measure of society's maturity is how it treats minorities, whether they are gays, poor or whatever else.

Excerpts from this laughable piece of black journalism:
For a country that bills itself as "the world's biggest democracy," India sure has a habit of shutting its minorities out of the democratic system.
Yes, India is a democratic country, so the Parliament has not so far repealed a law that resonates with the vast majority of the people, unlike pseudo-democracies where laws get hijacked due to pressure groups. India is an example of vox populi, vox dei. This is something the west can learn from India.

Moreover, when did India shut its minorities out of the democratic system? Everyone can vote, unlike the Fascist Baltic States.

In 2009, the High Court in Delhi threw out a 153-year-old law passed by the British colonial administration that made consenting sex between two adults of the same gender a crime.
The Delhi HC never threw out a law. The Judiciary cannot throw out a law. Only the Legislature can. The Delhi HC put a stay on the law, which was removed by the Supreme Court.

HAHAHA

posting from any tom dick and harry site does not prove India is one of the most Homophobic nations in the world.India has colonial era laws which will be repealed in the immediate future,so it's just a matter of time.

Most Indians are quite okay with gays and nobody in India to my knowledge has been prosecuted for being gay.

@jouni, what is the purpose of you posting all this gibberish? Is you sole motivation to slander India?

@ghost : ^^ This is what I'm talking about. If you notice, unlike you, he has hardly addressed any points raised by members. He has an agenda and he is peddling everywhere. People like these want to weaken the pysche of countries that do not adhere to their propaganda.

Correction: It will be repealed only if the majority of the Parliament think so. It will stay if the majority of the Parliament thinks so. Laws in India are made by the Parliament, not by LGBT groups.

Agreed. He has already posted pictures that are, in my view, akin to posting soft-porn.

@jouni, your conduct is reprehensible, to put it mildly.

Dont blame me, blame Finnish Post. And Russians for not accepting official finnish stamps. It was you who mentioned the "stamp gate" in the first place.

Take responsibility for your actions. Always shifting the blame. You posted that image, not me. And you posted other images too.

Russia was right in preventing filth. Filth is filth, even if it is official filth.

I am sorry, I did not know that you are so sensitive. We use those stamps every day. I hope you did not get any permanent complex or anxiety.
