HAVANA (AP) - Fidel Castro says al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden is a bought-and-paid-for CIA agent who always popped up when former President George W. Bush needed to scare the world, arguing that documents recently posted on the Internet prove it.

"Any time Bush would stir up fear and make a big speech, bin Laden would appear threatening people with a story about what he was going to do," Castro told state media during a meeting with a Lithuanian-born writer known for advancing conspiracy theories about world domination. "Bush never lacked for bin Laden's support. He was a subordinate."

Castro said documents posted on WikiLeaks.org _ a website that recently released thousands of pages of classified documents from the Afghan war _ "effectively proved he was a CIA agent." He did not elaborate.

The comments, published in the Communist Party daily Granma on Friday, were the latest in a series of provocative statements by the 84-year-old revolutionary, who has emerged from seclusion to warn that the planet is on the brink of nuclear war.

Castro even predicted the global conflict would mean cancellation of the final rounds of the World Cup last month in South Africa. He later apologized for jumping the gun. Last week, he began highlighting the work of Daniel Estulin, who wrote a trilogy of books highlighting the Bilderberg Club, whose prominent members meet once a year behind closed doors.

The secretive nature of the meetings and prominence of some members _ including former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, senior U.S. and European officials, and major international business and media executives _ have led some to speculate that it operates as a kind of global government, controlling not only international politics and economics, but even culture.

During the meeting, Estulin told Castro that the real voice of bin Laden was last heard in late 2001, not long after the Sept. 11 attacks. He said the person heard making warnings about terror attacks after that was a "bad actor."

Castro stepped down due to ill health in 2006 _ first temporarily, then permanently _ and handed power over to his younger brother Raul. He has remained head of the Cuban Communist party but stayed out of view for four years after falling sick before returning to the spotlight in July.

Castro did take exception with one of Estulin's major theses: that the human race must move to another habitable planet or face extinction.

Castro said it would be better to fix things on Earth then abandon the planet altogether.

"Humanity ought to take care of itself if it wants to live thousands more years," Castro told the writer.

The bin Laden family did have business interest with the Bushes.

But would that mean that Osama was Dubya's chum?

Notwithstanding, how come when the US can find out Taliban leaders and eliminate them with drones, Old Osama seems to have vanished into thin air!!

Unbelievable, once a piece of information becomes mainstream it is accepted as "truth". Osama bin bloody Laden is an outcast Saudi royal. His undertakings in Afghanistan were completely financed by his own family riches. He was a nobody during the Afghan-Soviet war, many men were on the ground in Afghanistan with actual CIA support and much more loyal followers. But these people were mostly assassinated by the ISI and Taliban once the Soviets left. Osama is a spoiled Saudi who is more connected to Saudi and Pakistani intelligence than he is a CIA agent. This is fact.

People think he just popped up during Bush era, but people conveniently distort facts and forget that Clinton launched cruise missile attacks on the Taliban mostly targeting Bin Laden, and people also forget Bin Laden's embassy bombings and the beginning of his Jihad, which coincided with the Taliban offensives in Afghanistan. These were completely ISI and Saudi intelligence sponsored. We tend to forget that other countries also have intelligence agencies that do more harm than good to the country. Has CIA let a terror attack happen in the US these past many years? Their aim and cause in the battle against terrorism is absolutely correct and justified.

Fidel Castro is out of touch with reality as his head is filled up with too much grandiose pompous and illogical thoughts as his head has been stuck up his ass for the past century, terrorizing that small little helpless island. He himself was a pawn of KGB for most of his life.

Very true, myths become facts and truth.

Osama is NOT from the Saudi Royals. His father, Muhammed Awad bin Laden was a wealthy businessman with close ties to the Saudi royal family. Osama was a friend of Prince Turki bin Faisal, the head of Saudi intelligence and shared common views on the decline of Islam. When the Soviets invaded Afghanistan in Dec 1979 , Prince Turki sent Osama to Peshawar to scout around to raise an all Arab volunteer army.

In Pakistan, Osama quickly became acquainted with the charismatic and fiery Palestinian, Abdallah Azaam, who had made a name for himself with fiery sermons in Zarka, Jordan, to Palestinians fleeing the Jordan Army's crackdown in 1970. Azaam later became one of the inspirer of the HAMAS movement, rejected Arafat's mainstream PLO and the smaller Palestinian groups as too Marxists and not Islamic enough. Azaam also felt that these movements were too dependent on the Soviet Great Satan, the usurper of Muslim Afghanistan. Azaam, in liaison with the Generals running Pakistan's ISI, who were in turn under the directed command of Zia ul Haq, outline the need for weapons, transport and income for the families of the jihadis. Osama promised to be generous with the funding.

Back in Riyadh, Osama's father and the owner of the bin Laden construction company, and Prince Turki gave their blessing that permitted Osama in his journeying around the Arab world to find volunteers and for fund raising. The bin Ladens cemented their ties with the Saudi Royal family and Zia, beginning 1983. The bin Ladens won the 'contract of the century' in Saudi Arabia worth $3 billion to fully restore and construct where necessary the holy sites of Mecca and Medina.

Delighted by the impeccable Saudi credentials, the CIA gave Osama a free rein in Afghanistan as did the Pakistani Generals. The US looked with a benign eye to the rise of Sunni sectarianism to counter the Iranian Shiaism of the Khomeni variety. Osama proved to be a brave foot soldier and was injured in the fighting near Jalalabad.

Under the approving eye of the the Pakistani ISI, Osama cultivated and guarded his good relations with two main ethnic Afghan warlords - Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, the Pashtun and Shah Massod, the Tajik.

    Osama (Contd)

Even more crucial for his later global enterprise in private terrorism, bin Laden used as a regional power base in Pakistan, the Binoori Mosque in Karachi's Newton district. The prayer leader there was one Mullah Mohammed Omar, then an unknown young cleric, but by 1998, an effective leader of the Taliban. Operating from Karachi and directly from the strongholds of Afghanistan, Osama’s financial and construction empire set about building base and training camps and landing strips in Afghanistan and Pakistan for the private jets of the jihadi satraps. Deeply buried bunkers and tunnels for command posts and communication centres were carved out of the Afghan mountains.

Long before the war ended, Osama and his acolytes worked to take on the next target – the Great White Satan! After all, the Arab miseries as per Osama was all the creation of the US and the West!
